I slept there in the begining of my 7 months trip. It was the first hostel that I went to. What a lovely place. first of all because of the owners.. Gisel and Alejandro are such a great and warm people. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there is hot water in the shower 24\7, the breakfast is great, there... More

The owner Alejandro still supports the reall feel of backpacking. While everything in town was booked out this spot isnt on half the booking sites. Even then Alejandro keeps space for some people who are stranded without bookings. This way people can still make last minute desiscions. The price is same as every other hostel and though 200ARP sounds much... More

We came to Ushuaia without a reservation, but the Backpackers Refugio had two dorm beds left - enough for us. We stay 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The staff is friendly, talkative and funny (speaks excellent english too). What we liked best was the planful layout and functionallity of the hostel: - it offers 3 kitchens with enough... More

The good: the owners are very nice and helpful when they are free. The bad: way over priced for what you get. The hostel is jammed packed with people, and the common area is one of the most cramped spaces I've ever been in. Everything is a competitive rat race there from getting information out of the owners on things... More

Hi my friend backpacker, we felt sorry about your disappointment. As new owners we trying to change and improve some things since we got here. We've done so much for the place so far. It's imposible to make everyone happy, but in the process we think that people really appreciate what we've done with the place and got the travellers... More

The hostel is very clean and the dorms a good size with some lockers. they also let you leave bags there while you go off camping/hiking etc - no dramas! The owners offer a flexible policy in terms of rebooking - which is nice, although sometimes appears a little disorganised. But if you give them 5 minutes to sort something... More

Excellent location in the middle of ushuaia, nearby av San Martin. The rooms are clean and warm and causy. There is a good kitchen and a laundry room where you can clean your shoes after a hike. The owners are very attentive and nice. Gave us advices for trips in ushuaia. The wifi is very good.

As per other reviews the owner is very helpful and the location is very convenient for the town and the port. However male bathroom was pretty poor, and room only heated by dodgy looking gas fire. Other issue is that there's nowhere for left luggage; the suggestion is just to leave it in the corridor. No issues occurred with this... More

Boss I presumed is very attentive to guests needs and every ready to roll up sleeve to service. One thing I noticed in many hostel is that most hostels like to cramp people into one hostel room. Certainly not for this hostel, he even opened up all his available rooms for me to choose. Need to encourage such behaviour. The... More

I traveled with my parents through Patagonia and we stayed in this hostel in Ushuaia. For my parents it was the first time in a hostel ever. The owners welcomed us and they took all the time to explain things and showed us around, while it was very busy at that moment. The hostel is very cosy and in the... More
