I stayed at the hotel during the new year of 2014-2015. It was an excellent choice, for a romantic couple´s vacation. The hotel is gay friendly, which was a plus for us, but i would describe its guests more as families than gay crowd. Great room and beds, the view to the lake is fantastic, We got a room in... More

Far from the center and up on a hill. Really only good if you have a car. However that makes it quiet. Taxis are easy to get and cheap though. Odd breakfast. Missing bowls, all carbs, missing cutlery. Rainbow bread. Staff not friendly. Clean nice rooms. Beautiful lake view with birds including flamingos. Wifi only in lobby. They sure let... More

We stayed here for 1 night. It is a nice hotel, but for the price you pay, I would expect less problems: - it was a windy night, as often in Patagonia. The roof made so much noise I could not sleep without earplugs. - Altough it was stated that restaurant and roomservice were available until 11 pm, at 10... More

When I got there with the reservation, the staff said, "your room is broken (this is what he did said),so I fix a room in the old hotel for you" ,without apology. I walked to the hotel and which accommodation fee is much cheaper,so I claimed,"why you didn't refuse my reservation knowing you couldn't prepare a room, I would like... More

Not a lot of English spoken here, but hey your in South America, right? The young guys at the front desk did their best to communicate which is more than I can say for the owner/manager? Our room was on the lower floor which was partly underground, so our window was just a bit above ground level, sort of prison... More

You cannot miss this hotel, it is pink and on a hill, when we arrived in Calafate we could see it from far. It is not in the centre of town, 20 minutes to get to town but back you have to go up hill! Better take a taxi...Wifi is only in the lobby, rooms are spacious and OK. Breakfast... More

Sweet mother of God, you would do better staying anywhere but here. First, this place is a 25 minute walk out of town. If you've got a car, great. If not, plan on hiking uphill for 25 minutes after dinner because there's really no other way to get there. The walls are incredibly thin. When your neighbor decides to call... More

All is very good, is very recomendable, is quite far from center, not more than 15 mins walking. Is very confortable, and nice staff. The bread has different colors, which is funny, but kinda freaky too. Has a exceptional see, of the river and sunset..

We had a wonderful time, the location and setting of the hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. We did not use the spa or sauna however the couches and games in the main dining area were very homly & added a to the feeling of welcome of the hotel. The views of the city, El Calafate from... I have mixed feelings about Shehuen Hotel. The bad part: It is far from the city center (about 2 km from where all the restaurants and shops are) and UPHILLS, and the streets are not all paved and there are no sidewalks. If you are afraid of dogs (not my case), do not walk around the hotel, since lots of... More
