S50°20.615' W72°15.195' in a slump part of El Calafate, before the bridge to the city centre, between car repair shops and DIY-housing, this large hotel is the favourite of travel companies. During our stay in December 2014, we opened overheated room 104 with constant noise of a compressor. Complaining at reception, they confirmed that the compressor sound was part of... More

We are still guests of this sort of hotel in El Calafate. As we know it is high seasons we did not have such a great expectations from the hotel but the service it is worst than our immagination. The structure could be a kind of nice traditional hotels 30 years ago, for sure not now. It is very old,... More

There was something about this place that we loved. Yes, it is a 15 minute walk into town but who goes to this area and does not like to walk? The neighborhood was fine, just not upscale. We never felt unsafe walking. The rooms look just like the pictures. The walls are thin. I know this sounds negative but I... More

The Rincon housed us for two nights. Our room was a bit on the small side so backpackers needing more space may want to stay at a hostel. I imagine that the extra money would not buy a lot more space (compared to a hostel). There is WiFi and a small TV but no private refrigerator. The location is a... More

It is a good 15 min walk from town through rough neighborhood but the hotel is pristine, modern and well above standards. The rooms a very modern with all required amenities. Great staff and fantastic continental breakfast served at 6.30 onwards for whose up early for the perito Moreno excursion. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our Patagonia trip. When the car pulled up at the hotel, we were a bit disappointed as it seemed to be in a residential area far away from the main streets. The road was also not the best. However, as soon as we went inside, we were impressed. The reception/lobby/common areas... More

Good basic but clean and quiet Hotel 8 minutes walk into El Calafate main street and away from the frenzy of the centre of the town.Staff were very helpful and friendly.Free WIFI was good and it had a good TV .The breakfast could have included some scrambled eggs etc(more European ) however it was adequate.

Rincon del Calafate is outside the main downtown strip of El Calafate -- about a five-minute walk from downtown. The hotel is part of a three-unit group in El Calafate and its newest unit, that is new to the group. (I believe they acquired it from another group.) That said, it's in great shape with a beautiful breakfast room, very... More

I stayed at this hotel at the start and finish of a tour of Patagonia. I liked it a lot. The rooms are pretty basic, but have a TV, safe and decent bathroom (with hair dryer). There is free wifi with a good signal in the rooms. The breakfast was basic, but perfectly fine. The common areas are lovely -... More

This hotel feels just like a ski lodge.... And that's s good thing. There's s large lobby with a big fireplace and a comfy couches. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is decent. The rooms are spacious and clean. They don't sell lunch boxes for day excursions but there are plenty of places nearby that do. My only... More
