This hotel might not be a 5 star one, but it is excellent in many aspects: very VERY clean, comfortable beds, great water pressure in the showers, very good breakfast and walking distance to main town street, including "La Tablita" only 5 blocks away if you want to try the best patagonin lamb in Calafate. The walking from the town... More

We stayed one night in Feb 2015. Clean rooms and friendly & helpful staff. Nice big breakfast. Wifi a bit dodgy but did work eventually. It's about a 5 mins walk from the main centre so is pretty convenient. Nothing spectacular but we had a nice stay and I would recommend this place.

We stayed just one night, before and after our group tour of Los Glaciares National Park. The Hosteria is a clean, bright hotel, located a 10-minute walk outside of El Calafate. Two good restaurants are nearby. Breakfast consists of cereals, yogurt, rolls/toast/crossaint (if you are gluten-free, bring something you can eat). We stayed in a two-bedroom suite (Room 17?) the... Lovely hotel in a quiet spot just 10 mins walk from the center of town. Staff is very helpful on any front - tours and even weather recommendations. Rooms are a good size and with lots of storage space/shelves and tables - which is kind of useful when you travel and want to spread things around!! Very clean, good heating... More

Loved the hotel. Great customer service especially Veronica on reception who was always charming and helpful. They made no charge for the booked night we missed due to a flight cancellation. They offered us a free breakfast when we arrived after a night flight. Beds very comfortable, views fantastic and we loved the restaurant they recomended almost next door.

Cozy woody hotel with a very familiar touch outside town. Very nice staff: Vero is super, always smiling and eager to provide the best of services. Rooms very basic but clean, hot water, heaters, cable tv, phone…what else do you need to spend 3-4 days in this part of the Argentinian patagonia? The neighborhood is very quite.Notice that the hotel... More

The staff speaks perfect English, is very helpful and always available. Rooms are spacious and very nicely furnished. The bathrooms are large, have very good pressure on the shower and always hot water. Heaters in all rooms plus a fridge. The common area with sofas is very cozy and so is the backyard and frontyard. Great wifi connection. Location is... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

I stayed at Hainen for three nights. The location is somewhat out of town, but everything is in walking distance. There are at least two good restaurants close by if one or the other night you are not keen on walking to town. The room was basic but good. I slept like a rock all three nights. Quiet neighbourhood, and... More

Comfortable and clean house, everything kept well. Very friendly and helpful host! The place is quiet outside the town, but just 15 min to walk to the centre of Calafate. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. Very recommendable place to stay.

I am now very confused by the reviews that give this place 4 and 5 stars. I feel misled now that I have stayed there. Maybe I just got the one bad room, but I doubt it. I had a really poor experience and couldn't wait to leave. Pros: -Juan is incredible. He was kind, carried our bags, gave us... More
