A very cozy place. Good to go with your love. Great hotel with a very nice view, clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and multilingual. Located not far from the main avenue. Great tea from 17:00 pm.

We stayed there in January during our Patagonia tour. We had a double twin room that was extremely small and we could not move much...so be aware. But, the staff was more than friendly and helpful. The hotel is located off center so there is a decent amount of walking to do if you want to go to the center... More

We stayed in this hotel in January 2013. The owner went out of his way to treat us like family. We had not checked in before we left to do the W trek but he had no problem letting us store our luggage there. We got back very tired from our trek at 10PM, he asked if we had dinner... More

Our room was clean and comfortable but the best thing about this hotel were the wonderful staff who welcomed us with big smiles and gave us good advice about tours in the area. Even when an airline strike changed our plans, they were so good with making phone calls and accommodating us for longer. Don't be put off by the... More

We loved the location of this hotel. It was a couple of blocks from the waterfront and from the centre of town. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast and dinner menu items were delicious! We enjoyed watching 'stray' horses wandering in nearby yards. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Laundry services were useful and very reasonablely... More

This was such a nice and small hosteria. They had a restaurant upstairs with a fine breakfast, afternoon tea time and good three course dinner (you can choose two courses too). It was in a quiet area away from the city centre and close to the Lagoon. To walk to the city centre was about 10-15 minutes. It was really... More

When my fiancé Kirt and I arrived at Cauquenes de Nimez in shorts and tshirts (coming straight from hot Buenos Aires, and the airline lost our luggage!) the wonderfully friendly receptionist (I feel terrible, as I forget her name) and Carlos lent us some clothes and sent us in the right direction in town to rent some clothes. The receptionist... More

The host of this property was very welcoming and very nice. The room was also very nice and clean. The breakfast was the best breakfast I had during my stay in Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. The property is a 10-12 minute walk from the town's main street. You can walk it at any time of the day or night... More

Located on a quiet street away from town center. Plenty of parking and not too long of a walk from town. Hotel is run by the owners who are very friendly and helpful. There is very little traffic on the street so there does not appear to be a big advantage of some rooms being quieter than others. Having said... More

My friends and I stayed for 1 night when we returned to El Calafate after going to El Chalten. The first time we stayed closer to main street. It was nice to stay at Caquenes because it's a very different part of town. We went exploring near the bay and through the quiet neighborhoods. The breakfast was great. The room... More
