Staying with Tamara and Frederico was like staying with friends...they were both so welcoming and helpful. The horseback riding here was like I had always dreamed of riding....no nose to tail trails here....just open space to ride with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. The meals were served in the pretty, light filled dining area and were delicious. Rooms were... More

Our trip included Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Agentina as well as Torres del Paine and El Calafate. Each location had something very different and special to offer, but our time at Hosteria Alta Vista was truly memorable. On our day of arrival, we were warmly greeted by Federico, Tamara, and their staff. We had a wonderful lunch and then... More

Wow! Our family was blown away by our recent visit of Hosteria Alta Vista. Managed by the delightful Tamara and Federico, this small gem was the highlight of our 10 day visit to Patagonia. From the scrumptious food (empanadas! barbecue!) to the stunningly beautiful backdrop to the well cared-for horses to the friendly dogs, we felt embraced by the experience.... More

I was blown away by this property; it is like Tuscany meets Wyoming. Driving down the dirt road one does not know know quite what to expect when arriving at this Estancia (working farm) but the wildflowers, free roaming sheep and horses and the tiny blue lagoons of flamencos surrounded by stunning mountain ranges left me breathless with anticipation. And... More

We stayed for thee nights at Alta Vista on our first visit to Patagonia and it is all one imagines Patagonia to be, a wonderful peaceful place. It is some way from El Calefate and in our opinion perhaps all the better for it. Tamara and Frederico were perfect hosts and excellent for information on excursions to Perito Moreno and... More

The hosts, Tamara and Federico, are wonderful. The chef, Juan Cruz, makes amazing dinners. "Maggie", the waitress and assistant, is so warm and fun. We walked on the estancia twice and rode horses once. It really is a great place to stay. We liked being away from the touristy city.

Thanks to the great hospitality of Tamara and the kindness of Federico, we had a remarkable vacation in El Calafate. Federico, took us on a fabulous horse ride on the surrounding mountains where we could observe wild horses, pink flamingos, eagles, rabbits and, from a distance, the Perito Moreno. We were warmly welcomed. We will long cherish those beautiful memories!

We stayed in Hosteria Alta Vista in January 2015 for three nights. The place is simply amazing. Beautiful settings in the middle of Patagonia with no one to be seen for miles. Yet perfectly located not too far from El Calafate airport and close to the glacier. Start early and you are at the glacier well before everyone else. But... More

We stayed at Hosteria Alta Vista, the inn part of the Estancia Anita, for our last 3 nights in Patagonia. If we could have, we would have stayed longer. We were not interested in the shopping, restaurants, or night life of El Calafate, so it was truly perfect for us. We wanted another chance to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of... More

We stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. There was only one other couple when we were there, so it was pretty quiet. Somehow we lucked out and got a room with a bedroom, a sitting room, and a bathroom - very deluxe. This place sends you back in time. It reminded me of an old English bungalow... More
