This hotel is old and needs a refurbishment. The curtain in the bathroom is not what one would expect... The medialunas bread etc are all more than 2 days old. The staff is very helpful and polite. We loved el calafate and the proposed activities on the glaciers, mountains etc. We will definitely go back but choose a different hotel!

We stayed here 3 nights while touring in the region. The room was very large, but dated furniture and two small beds. There is no minibar. That wasn't an issue for me, but might be for others. The staff have poor English and my Spanish is even worse so communications could be difficult, but we managed. It was unseasonably warm... More

Stayed for 1 night. Staff helpful. Rooms are clean. Single beds are narrow but comfortable. Location was good. Just 1 street from the Main shopping area and restaurants. Rooms centrally heated so found the room a bit hot. Would stay again. Wi-fi was free but slow

We stayed here on our way to El Chalten. It is away from the main street of El Calafate and very quiet. The staff was extremely helpful during our time there and very friendly. The room was clean, if basic. This is a very good option if you need a place to stay in El Calafate. Wanted to note what... More

Old and shabby is the center of El Calafate. Excellent for shoppers. Rooms out dated. Water in the shower are alternating between cold and warm. Below average breakfast. Semilunas from 1-2 days ago. Some cheese and not very tasty cakes. But you get eggs as you order: omelet, sunny side up, scrambled...

Overall service and attitude of this establishment was exceptionally poor. Location is good. Quite old, but acceptable. Hotel completely empty, bad smells permeated the rooms, no allowance for a late checkout, poor breakfasts, staff barely able to speak English. Not advisable!!!! 1 star no more.

In the room the tv is next to the beds. If you want to see tv from the bed you can't. It's not 4 stars, at least 3. You don't have any restaurant at the hotel and the breakfast is poor. The people from the hotel is really kind. The bedrooms are comfortable but the tv is really old and... More

Well, the Quijote looks pretty nice and is in a very good location, close to the main street in El Calafate. Our room was nice and spacious, clean, comfortable. Because my husband had been pick-pocketed in Buenos Aires, we were extra careful to lock up ALL our valuables in the safe in our room. Unfortunately, the safe malfunctioned and would... More

My husband and I stayed at Quijote twice for two nights each, a week apart. Our first impression was great - the lobby is a standout. It's cozy, spacious, has a bar, and nicely decorated. Has public internet which works decently. Our room the first stay was disappointing. It was on the first room and left of the checkin desk.... More

We stayed at the Quijote Hotel in December 2013 while on a NatGeo adventure, a 2 week hike in Patagonia. This was the hotel of choice in El Calafate. It is a good hotel with a helpful staff. It is close to restaurants and the main street. The breakfast is solid which is helpful when doing a lot of hiking.... More
