We had a great experience at Solares del Sur in El Calafate! We stayed in Cabin #2 with an amazing view of Lago Argentino right from our front window. The cabin was very spacious with a large main area with dining table and double beds, and a separate bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom was luxurious and large enough.... More

I loved this little hotel. It is a fair distance outside of town- we walked and it took 30-45 minutes. It's up on a hill a bit with a nice view out over the lake. But there are only about 8 cabins and they feel very well attended to and are very comfortable. It had the feel of a summer... More

Pluses- The staff's recommendations: The staff will set up any excursions you want to do. We did both minitrekking and trail riding, both set up by the staff at Solares Del Sur, and it went smoothly. It was nice to have someone to get everything lined up for us. The trail ride we were set up on, via recommendation, was... More

The hosts spoke excellent English and were very welcoming. Service was excellent. They had even printed out our schedules and tickets for glacier trekking before our arrival, even though we didn't book anything through them. We loved that this place was outside the "tourist trap" portion of El Calafate, where we could enjoy the scenic views and relax. The cabins... More

The staff at Solares del Sur is really friendly! However, the hotel itself is located out of town and there is not much to see/ do in the surrounding area. This place is most suitable for someone traveling on a low budget and do-it-yourself attitude. You will have a kitchen in the rooms, so you’ll be able to cook your... More

We were travelling in Argentina for 3 weeks, and were enchanted by this place that offers a 2 story appart, close to downtown (20 min walk). the breakfast is serve the night before, so you could take it whenever you want. It gives you the opportunity to have a fridge and have whatever to prepare a lunch of anything to... More

We stayed in one of the two storey apartments that has a balcony accessible from the main bedroom with a spectacular view of Lago Argentina! We were very pleased with our room that contained a kitchenette with mini-fridge so we could prepare breakfast that was delivered to our room the night before. That was very helpful to be able to... I agree with all the good reviews of this hotel. Had a lovely stay for two nights in one of the cabins and it was spotless, cozy and a welcome break from hotel rooms! Breakfast brought to cabin in the evening which meant we could sleep in and eat when suited us. Owner very helpful and friendly. Restaurant and bar... More

We stayed there at one of the cabins. A lot of things already written, so I will summarize. We just loved it. Some of the most beautiful sunsets plus a Quidu restaurant at the hotel, makes the stay a highlight. Highly recommended.

Loved staying here. We felt like it was an incredible deal to have a cute cabin all to ourselves for such a good price. Breakfast was delivered the night before and the staff were very nice. The only down side is that it's a bit out of town. But if you're willing to walk or get a taxi it's over... More
