Noisy, rude staff and terrible atmosphere sum up this place. We cut short our stay here because this place was so awful. We were in a bunk room in the newly built 'barn' across the street. This building is completely inappropriate to have people staying in. It shakes, doors slam and the staircase is unbelievably noisy - when people walk... More

There are so many options in El Calafate, skip this place! While nothing about this place was absolutely terrible, it certainly wasn't great. Everything about it makes you feel like you are a dirty disrespectful backpacker. The kitchen is filthy and poorly equipped. You need to rent cutlery because you can't be trusted not to steal. The showers were cold... More

We stayed there once in a private room with breakfast, the other in a dorm. The dorm does not include the breakfast, so, if you are two, it is worth taking just a private room with towel, no noise and comfort. There is a nice garden, the breakfast is complete (eggs, pancakes, bread, oranges), with kitchen to prepare food (no... More

The staff at Hostel Del Glaciar are exceptional! They go out of their way to help you, whether it's to book a tour, bus tickets, or find a good restaurant in El Calafate. The dorm rooms are comfortable, and each bed has it's own locker which is very spacious. The kitchen and dining area are large, and the common areas... More

One of he worst hostels we stayed in on our 7 month S.A trip. We were given a room in the 'modern building' across the street - basically a storage container above a bus garage. The whole place was made of metal and was incredibly noisy. It was also far too cold for the thin bedding we were given to... More

If you wish a small dorm in which you need to do your own bed (I mean they hand the sheets during check in), where the heating is leaking and making noise the whole night, where breakfast is not included, where they don't give you towels, where you need to wait between 10 and 30 minutes in reception to do... Stayed for a couple of nights and whilst it was ok, it was definitely cheap and not so cheerful! El calafate is expensive, especially compared to the rest of Argentina so its no surprise what would be a relatively expensive hostel in the North was very basic in the South. Our 4 bed dorm was very cramped but was comfortable,... More

We stayed at this hostel while on holiday in calafate in January 2014 and if I had to go back this will be my first choice to stay in yet again.we stayed in a double bedroom, the hostel is very clean, offers a very good breakfast (compared to what I had experienced in buenos aires and Bariloche). The one thing that was... More

The room we had was across the road in a bus building that has been adapted to cram a few more tourists into this hostel. It was more like being put in storage for the night. The building was made from tin so you could hear foot steps in the other rooms like elephants were going to come crashing in... More

I stopped at that hotel 1 year ago during my worldwide tour and I promised I would put a note on this hotel. I arrived at the the bus station very late (around midnight) and did not have any hotel booked (for schedule problems) in January 2013. I was going to look for a youth hostel in the middle of...
