The big, wooden building is very nice. The staff is very friendly, the position is pretty good. We were here for 2 nights, as Calafate is the best place to start visiting the Perito Moreno Glacier. We had a private room with an en-suite bathroom. It was ok, very clean, with adequate space. Even if I had my private bathroom,... More

Room was comfortable and warm with consistently warm showers (very important in the cold Patagonian environment!). The restaurant Isabel was also located right next to it, or actually more like in the hostel itself. It's also only just a short walk to the main street.

Neither great nor awful...just average. Have mixed feelings and experiences with the staff, so you might either get lucky or really unlucky, depending with whom you talk to. The location is good, close to the center and the rooms are not bad. The beds were alright, although a bit squeaky. There was a definite shortage of electrical plugs, especially considering... More

Good: Nice friendly staff with good overall vibe. Location is ok, about 500 meters from center. Bad: Wifi only in public areas. Tv in room didnt work, said the satellite was broken. The breakfast that was included in the price was a joke - regular cereal with milk, toast and cofee. Thats all. The bed in the room was dirty... More

Average/poor. Stayed here 3 nights. Poor welcome and induction. No info on tours or the area. Hostel is clean and nice but could be made to have an atmosphere. No atmosphere at l amongst backpackers. My friend had problems with the ATM. No help was given or sympathy. Breakfast was awful. Warm milk and cereal. staff were so unfriendly apart... More

I found this hostel based on recommendations -- and it turned out to be above average. I had a four-bed dorm almost to myself for most of the 5 nights I spent there. The friendly staff helped me to find the right tour operator for the Perito Moreno glacier and a day-long estancia outing on Lago Upsala. A clean kitchen... More

Found this hostel based on a recommendation and it turned out to be a good experience. The people working at the front desk were very friendly. We got a private room for the night with a bathroom, it was very clean and well maintained from the bedrooms to the bathroom. One thing was the people at the restaurant were not... More

I stayed in this hostel for 5 nights during December. The rooms were clean but unfortunately the bathrooms are shared. They are clean enough, though. A tip for the hostel, maybe provide hand soap in the bathrooms? There is a really good restaurant to the side of this hostel with excellent food (although expensive) and good service. Won't be coming... More
