First of all, El Calafate is not a town in which toy want to spend too long time. The place is overrun with tourists, and the buildings and the food is unattractive. The only attraction here is the surrounding nature scenery, which is no less than spectacular. The Glaciers and the mountains. Simply beautiful. And Lautaro is a calm oasis,... More

We stayed in March for one night before heading off to Torres del Paine and again for 2 nights on our return. We booked via hostelworld.com. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Belen and Dario and made to feel at home. Our room was comfortable (double with en-suite) and good value. The included breakfast was one of... More

We stayed at Lautaro back in March, on either side of our El Chalten trip. Belen & Dario were absolutely amazing, their friendly smiles and help were great, happy to offer advice or make bookings for buses etc. the real highlight was the food, breakfast was superb with fresh bread every day with homemade jams. The dinner we had there... More

Belen and Dario are possibly the nicest most helpful and smiley hostel owners in the world. And so are the rest of the people who work here. The place is in a great part of town not far from the main street, the rooms are comfortable and warm but the thing that stays with me to most is the welcome.... More

As lots of people have previously mentioned, it is the kindness and hospitality that make this place stand out. It also has a great breakfast with homemade breads, and the evening meals were superb (and refreshingly different to what is often found in Argentina). The location is great, on a quiet residential street near the main street, and a short... More

Belen and Dario (and their two gorgeous little children!) have created a real home from home hostel where you're made to feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. It's got everything you need and is clean with nice homely touches. Dario's evening meals are delicious as are the little home baked breads/ cakes that Belen adds to... More

We stayed here for two nights, and we had a good experience. Velen was being so helpful and knowledgeable before and during out stay. Our email communication went really smoothly. This place is located pretty close to the main street of the town. The room itself is small and okay. Their reception area is welcoming and nice. They serve homemade... More

We stayed here for a few days either side of our trip to Torres del Paine. You literally could not find more friendly staff. I cannot speak highly enough of Belen who was so lovely and kind, she even picked up our laundry for us when we ended up getting back late from our Perito Moreno glacier trip. The rooms... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Hospedaje Lautaro in March. Before we arrived, Belen had helped me book in our day trip activities and answered other random questions I had. We were staying in a twin room with private bathroom, which was very spacious with locks on the door. Dario and Belen (and Daphne) were all very helpful and friendly... More
