We stayed here during our weekend trip to El Calafate and we’re completely amazed by it. Our room is overlooking Lago Argentino! From the customer service to the cleanliness of the hotel, everything was superb. The free breakfast and the hourly shuttle to town, is merely just a plus. Apparently this is owned by ‘el presidente’ so that gave it... More

I can't complain about the hotel but it was probably my least favorite during my stay in Calafate. It is clean and new but gives off a sterile cold feeling. Staff were nice but not exactly welcoming. The hotel seems to be complete but the landscaping was still being worked on, so at the moment, it's just an awkward building... More

My wife and I stayed at Las Dunas for 3 nights while we were visiting El Calafate. It is a very nice hotel with a great staff. The breakfast and dinner is great as well. The views are also top notch. The only 'bad' thing is that the hotel is about a 30 minutes walk from the center of town.... More

We got here just before Christmas. It is a beautiful place that overlooks Lake Argentina. The place just opened up, so lacked a) landscaping, b) guests, c) certain amenities (eg pool, workout facility). Breakfast was weak: canned fruit, minimal cereal, bad coffee. Would not come back until seeing some better reviews.

As many reviewers said, this hotel is located on a hill, away from the downtown area. It has good view of Lake Argentina. One can walk on the beach all the way to Laguna Nimez Reserve. From the beach you have access to a gate which brings you to the trail circling the laguna. To walk to the downtown it... More

Our room was nice, clean, comfortable and overlooking the lake however the hotel itself was nothing special. There were very few guests when we were there and also very few staff. We ate in one night but we were the only people there and we had to search for the waiter every time we wanted a drink! The hotel was... More

We stayed at Hosteria Las Dunas for 4 nights in Feb 2013 and had asked our tour operator, Imagine Latin America, to book us in there as we had read the Trip-advisor reviews about the fantastic location and good restaurant. We were not disappointed in the location - right on the shore of Lake Argentina with wonderful views towards snow... More

Many hotels in El Calafate are far from center. Hotel Las Dunas is far from center (30 min walk). All shuttle/transferts for the tours will arrange pick-up at the hotel Las Dunas. Despite its location near lake, there are no nice walking possibilities by the lake. Hotel Las Dunas has a free shuttle but very irregular.. Taxi from center is... More

Gorgeous views, rooms are a little dated and it is very far from town. It's a cute town, too.We ate there once and it was OK. Breakfast is nothing special. Not as helpful as other places we stayed in Argentina.

The room has beautiful lake Argentina view. The hotel was nice and cozy, clean and tidy room with comfortable bed. A bit far from the town but there was shuttle bus provided. The staffs were friendly and helpful.
