We stayed there for one night, the cabanitas are small timber 'mini houses' with a room and shower/toilet downstairs, and a bedroom on the first floor. The place was neat but it feels a little claustrophobic, the shower flows onto the entire bathroom as the bathroom is very small and there is no shower curtain, we did not like it... More

Not good... the cabins are small and linens are worn. The bathroom is deplorable - the ´door´ is a flimsy plastic divider and there isn´t a real shower - just a shower head that leeches water all over the bathroom floor. Worst shower of the vacation - it´s a small hose connected to a hand-held sprinkler that only produces a... More

We were very well received and we had a great time. My friend had a birthday and Gerardo organised to have a birthday cake for breakfast. My friend was very surprised and we had a goog time. They were very good too to organise the expedition al Glacial Perrito Moreno.

Stayed here for 2 nights. For backpackers arriving from the bus terminal, it's only a 5min walk which is a real bonus as this town sprawls and other locations may well require a further taxi/ bus journey. Sweet family - they all do everything they can to help and make you feel comfortable. We had all our laundry washed in... More

We liked our room very much (triple with own bathroom in a sperate building), but what is mor important is that the owners are very friendly and helpful and child-friendly. The breakfast and the offered meals in the evening are really good quality. We enjoyed it very much... wonderful garden!

We wanted to stay here on our first night in el calafate but it was full so we booked it for our return trip 5 days later. We went down to the office and spoke directly with the owners father who took down all our details. We offered to pay then but he said it would be fine to pay... More

Myself and my partner stayed here 3 nights either side of a trip to El Chal. On our first stay we were in one of the cabins and the second time a double room which we had with private bathroom in the main building. I preferred the latter. The cabin was unusual, A frame with a single bed and bathroom... More

We stayed at las cabanitas for three nights. The cabins are rustic but also very cozy. The family that runs the place is really friendly and helpful. They also cook very nice food for dinner! Just ask what's on the menu... they provide one dish every day.

We stayed a total of 4 nights at Las Cabanitas, in 3 different stays (Calafate was our home base, we went back and forth over 10 days). While the cabins are indeed rustic, we loved our stay because owner Gerardo really made a difference, and did his best to make our stay an enjoyable experience. First, I had advised that... More

We stayed 4 nights at Las Cabanitas. The hostel is well located. Gerardo and his family received us very well with warmness. The advice of Gerardo about the different tours, trekkings, places to visit has been very helpfull. The homemade dinner dishes are fully recommandable and are truly homemade! We had a very nice stay!
