Kelta is unpretentious, decent, homely place to stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Meals delicous. Staff friendly and helpful. It's a bit far from city center (about 15 minutes walking), but if you don't like walking, there are taxis in the town, so it should not be a problem.

As other reviewers have mentioned, there are pluses and minuses to this place. Among the minuses I experienced was the location - it's a bit of a trek up the hill from the main town, nothing too bad but if you eat or drink anywhere north or east of the main strip (Libertador) you'll be faced with a 20 minute... This is a basic but very nice B&B. The staff is warm and friendly and the breakfast is simple but good. Rooms are fine and view over the city is lovely. It is uphill to get there so only choose it if you don't mind exercising your legs. WiFi works very well in all the common areas. For a B&B... More

I've been to El Calafate at least 8 times. I'm not sure what others were expecting, but the staff were friendly, and went out of their way to help. I know when I stay there between photography trips into the mountains that I can some excellent rest. It goes with the territory that there will be dogs and noisy vehnicles... More

We did not find this hotel very comfortable . First , the access was after a long climb on foot . The rooms were very small , irregular in shape as if drawn out of corners . Breakfast was quite ordinary. The town itself had very few Cambios for changing currency into pesos , and the rates were quite adverse... More

If you can avoid, choose another place to stay while in El Calafate. We were very disappointed firstly because the room was so very noisy. You could hear the cars coming in and going out all night long. The service we received was very bad indeed, we nearly missed our excursion to the all glaciers tour with the boat, because... More

Very noisy rooms with outside noise from cars, buses, errant dogs. Poor service at reception when attended. Very limted food and choice for breakfast.don't hesitate to bring your own food. No elevator. Not conveniently located.

I am sorry to say but this place is just a bit odd, old and smelly. When we opened the room it was smelling like it hadn't seen the light of day and air in few weeks (very bad), so we just tried to ventilate it. Everything was quite old but the room was spacious and you did have room... More

We stayed in room 006 (first floor) from Jan 1 and checked out today Jan 4 2013 (flight is 2 hours late, so may as well do the reviews now :-)). First off - Carla make a BIG difference in our stay there. The Kelta hotel, frankly, has some marginal points, but Carla really came across as a very hard... More

I stayed at Kelta for 3 nights and there's nothing negative that I can say about this place. Carla and Lucas were the ones who were there most of the time while I was there and both are very friendly. If ever I get the chance to go back to el Calafate, I will not stay anywhere but in Kelta.
