We stayed at the hotel Aldebaran during our three week tour of Argentina at the start of the season. The hotel was ideal as it was situated away from hustle and bustle of Bariloche, on the outskirts of town. The hotel had views over the imposing lake. It was spotlessly clean, staff friendly and very accommodating and the food was... More

Aldebaran is a 10-room hideaway perched on a peninsula about 20 minutes west of downtown Bariloche. The views (of the lake, the woods, the mountains, and a glacier) are spectacular, and the contrast with busy Bariloche is great, but the main appeal is the staff, especially Jose, the head of the house. At such a small place, you really feel... More

Initially we didn't plan to stay in Bariloche and we were to drive directly to San Martin de Los Andes instead. However we ended up having to spend one night in Bariloche which wasn't an easy task considering the amount of hotels one can choose from. Luckily we picked up Aldebaran with its wonderful location outside of Bariloche, amazing views... More

Lovely food, great location and very helpful, friendly staff. We loved this place and there is plenty to do in the area. Also it is very quiet at night which we loved. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who gave us helpful advice and booked one of the boat-trips we did for us!

As we drove through Bariloche, we realized it was much more touristy than we expected. We were THRILLED to drive out of the city to the peninsula where Aldebaran is located. Our own little haven! We ended up eating at the hotel restaurant, Sirius, all three nights as we found the food to be delicious and enjoyed being a bit... More

Boutique hotel with family feel. Excellent chef, local advice. Nature, Beauty, Zen. I took a private yoga class arranged by the hotel in their yoga studio on the water overlooking the Andes. I fell in love with this place. I actually cried when we left.

Aldebaran was the highlight of our accommodation finds on our trip to South America. Whilst slightly off the beaten path, we were more than rewarded on our arrival. From the warmest of welcomes we received from Alex on our arrival to Aldebaran to our sorrowful departure, our stay and choice of hostelry could not have been bettered. The hotel combines... More

Yes it's far from Bariloche but once you see it and the lake, you will just want to stay there, you do need to rent a car to make the most of your stay though but the staff can help you and advance with it. Book for more than one night as you will without a doubt want to relax... More

My husband and I stayed here 4/2014 for 4 nights. We had excellent service in every way, with helpful tips on places to see, reservations for restaurants and events made for us, taxis called. The chef made some fantastic meals (try the trout, cooked in butter and lemon) and the breakfasts were very generous. They will even make you bacon... More
