This proved to be a great choice for our stay in Bariloche. The room was clean and comfortable, and it is very well located in the centre of town. The double glazed windows keeps out street noise very well too. The room is not modern but this was not an issue for us. It was very warm so we turned the radiator off, and we had a fan too which was useful at times. The breakfast was basic but fine, with options for vegetarians. The lobby is newly renovated with comfy sofas to the side of reception which was a nice area to relax in. Wifi was good. Would stay here again!

Bariloche is an old looking town with many old hotels. But stuck, as it's a party town a couple times a year for wild young people who will destroy a nice hotel. When we looked for hotels, the common complaints were old, bad Wifi, poor breakfast, non-caring staff to no a/c. It was impossible to find a hotel with consistent favorable reviews. Humans can handle no a/c, but TURN -OFF the heaters!!!!!! When it's 60 or above, every hotel has the windows open! There is no way to turn down/off the heat in your room. Newer hotels are being built out of the tourist strip area to along the coast on Bustillo St., but even they love to roast people. Aspen Ski though, does have pleasant desk staff, such as Sofia & Lilliana, who we dealt with on a daily basis. Also, Federico, a wonderful young man who staffs the breakfast buffet all by himself! He even makes "real" scrambled eggs!!! Seems like none speak English. But this is common when you're outside of B Aires. Wifi was very good on our 5th floor with several good views of the lake/mountains. The hairdryers are kept at the desk, so you need to request one for your stay. TV remotes are also stored there, but are given upon check-in. The hotel tries to keep up its appearance, but it's still old. The location is on the edge of the tourist zone on the Mitre pedestrian Street. That worked well for us, as we had no street noise & the area is safe. Upon check-out, we noticed a sign on the reception desk that said (in Spanish), that they could control the heat in your room. This was never brought to our attention & not sure how well they could control it! They have a nightly buffet(155p) also staffed by Federico. If you prefer to eat out, as you exit the hotel to your right, there is a good restaurant, Cazuela, at the corner. Then a 1/2 block further, El Mundo, for pizza/Italian. We reviewed both!. The reason we downgraded the hotel, was when we arrived and lifted the toilet seat, there were urine stains. Which makes you wonder, how well was the room really cleaned.
