We stayed here last year whilst travelling around the northern part of Argentina. It is set in a central location overlooking beautiful mountains and lakes. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and for what it is, it's ideal for a couple of nights when backpacking. Worth booking for the best views in town coupled with local knowledge.

1st night we were awake until 5am because house music was playing. I went down to speak to the guy on reception who was rude and just wanted to carry on practicing guitar. 2nd night ok apart from the floor boards that you can feel people walking on even in a different room. 3rd night a big group were cooking... Place has potential but is endemically dirty and in serious need of maintenance. Sheets, towels etc grubby and really not nice, to say the least. Some staff really don't belong in hospitality; some lovely. The view is super and the price is cheap. It's a hostel so obviously quite noisy at times.

Located right on lago Nahuel Huapi. You awaken to the sound of water lapping the shore. Good private rooms and shared bunk rooms with a drop dead view? Good English, French spoken. Very lovely staff. Laundry service! Clean! Wifi, central to everything in town and bus stops.

The front room of the hostel is filled with light and has a beautiful view, beyond that the rooms are dark with few functioning lights. We stayed in two different rooms both of which had a large amount of mold, the showers were hit or miss when it came to heat and neither had enough water pressure to produce more... More

Excellent lake view from the bright common room and dorms but otherwise a tad dark. The place has a lot of potential but could really do with a good clean in the corners and some regular maintenance. Super lovely staff put a shine on things though. We stayed in the apartment which would comfortably fit four. However, the bathroom was... More

We were slightly unfortunate when we arrived in bariloche, we had booked another hostel, where upon turning up we were told the heating had broken and we would be transfered. The owner paid for the remise and sent us to Patanuk, who had not been told to expect us... Nonetheless, we got a nice welcome, but the hostel was in... More

We recently stayed at Patanuk hosel and would not return. The location by the lake and the advice from friendly female hostel worker (Kiki) were definetly the highlights of the stay She was so helpful in recommending car hire companies and places to go. I don't understand how this hostel is recommended in many of the travel guides- I'm wary... More

Due to your review, we'd like to respond carefully. We are a hostel very well located, maybe the best in Bariloche, but that's n ot our only asset. We are as Our pick on Lonely Planet not only because of this, we providea very good service. We understand we cannot make everybody happy, but we think your review it's too... More

Patanuk hostel is by far one of the funnest hostels i've ever stayed at. The first time I stayed was in 2006 and I had to come back. What a surprise to see how much has changed and in a good way!! The owners, Inaki and silvia are locals from spain and took me rock climbing for the first time.There's... More
