Great location. Close to the main square (4 streets away while most other hostels are really far!). Nice breakfast with tortillas (!!) and cereal. Nice and informative staff (: There are great asado nights and great vibe with local music. You can also rent bikes here to get around the city (: and the wifi is strong! Recommended!

Me and boyfriend stayed in a 10-bed dorm and we loved it! It was low season,so only us and a couple of other travellers in the big room. Lockers are available in the room, bring your lock. Downside was that it was room 1, the one facing the street which was quite loud in the morning. Additionally there is no A/C,... More

This is a very good hostal and my second time to stay here. It has a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to stay. Situated in an old house it has high ceiling and plenty of air. As a do nights are great when all guests come together and have a great time. The kitchen is good as is the... More

Backpackers Tucuman is a friendly place located in an old, beautiful building. There are several patios and comfortable common areas, while the dorms have high ceilings and lots of space. What makes it stand out from the bunch, however, is the extensive use of colours of all kinds, which creates a welcoming atmosphere

Backpackers Tucuman is from my opinion the perfect hostel for backpackers : Really clean, big individual bathrooms, some extra shower cabins, beautiful decoration, nice commun area in the backyard, and daily deals at the bar! Besides that, the location could hardly be better (few blocks from the Plaza Principal), And two big "plus" : They offer paragliding tours (What a... More

After we moved from a previous hostel, they came to our rescue. very nice place and secure. we had a room that we could have at a good rate. Gave us lots of information and how to get around. Kitchen was great and big place to meet other travellers and get to know them and swap information. I recommended it.... More

Ok for a one night stop over but I would have found somewhere else if we'd booked another night. We paid 70 pesos pp for 8 bed dorm. Rooms were grubby. Lockers not secure. Beds were not made, we were given 'clean' sheets to make up beds ourselves. Pillows hard and uncomfortable. Bunks were very high, wooden, poorly made and... More

Hostel in desparate need of a revamp, bathrooms are very old and falling apart. Dorm rooms are a good size. Lockers are useless - made of chipboard and the ones in our dorm had either broken locks or sides falling off them. State of the lockers sums up the whole place - looks like it used to be an ok... The hostel was fine, good location, good breakfast, hot showers, nice guests, lots near by to do and see. What really set this hostel apart was Fernando, the employee who checked me in. After a long motorcycle ride he kindly assisted me with my gear, my bike and all my needs. He was professional and very kind. He set up... More

Stayed in Backpackers Tucuman for one night in September 2011. It is located close to the city center in a nice building, and the owners are very enthusiastic and friendly. The hostel has everything on the spot: ping pong table, a bar, kitchen, etc. The dorm was spacious but a little noisy (you could hear people talking at the bar)... More
