My mother and I stayed at El Lagar during our far-too-short stay in Salta. This is the family home of the Etchart family which owns several wineries in the area. The interior is elegantly decorated with art and antiques, there are many cozy rooms in which to relax, and the garden is lovely. While some of the staff don't speak... more

We stayed one night in this hotel on our way to Salinas Grande and to the Jujuy Province. I regret I didn't stay more ! This hotel is really nice and has an amazing atmosphere. It looks like a Mexican estancia, is really well furnished (lots of paintings, statues, old pieces of furniture), and the rooms are quite big and... more

El Lagar is an elegant old home. It has an inner courtyard, and is beautifully decorated. It's in a fantastic location - only blocks from the main dining/nightlife street. We found it to be very, very comfortable, and loved our two nights there. It has a gorgeous inner courtyard that would be great in warmer months. It has loads of... more

I have just spent 2 nights at El Lagar and was delighted with everything. The hotel is an old colonial style house that used to be the family home of the well-known wine producing Etchart family. It still retains the style and atmosphere of a grand if slighlty faded grandeur private home rather than a hotel. We stayed in room... more

El Lagar is a good family hotel with a very good situation near the railway station, near the "peñas", near the good restaurants and not far from the city center where we went walking and we came back by taxi that is very cheap. Problems the air conditioner didn't work and was very hot in our room and they said... more

My husband and I stayed one night at this great hotel last month. Mariana, the owner of the hotel is actually the original owner of this gorgeous home. You feel like you are staying as a guest in someone's amazing home. The grounds are lovely, as is the inviting pool. Ask to see the wine cellar! Our room was well... more

We stayed at El Lagar for two nights before we went off to Cafayate/ Purmamarca and one additional night at the end before flying back to BA. From the street you would not know such a beautiful property was there, but once you step inside you will be very pleasantly surprised. The family pictures, furnishings, and art make you think... more

We loved this place. The house it is amazing but even better than that is the service that you receive. After loosing the suitcase and not finding our guide to take us to the hotel, the staff was great. We needed a pharmacy to get contact lenses solution, they found one for us, called them and even get the solution... more

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Parador El Lagar. The room was large and comfortable. It is located near a some very nice restaurant within walking distance. It was a short taxi ride to the center of town where you would not want to stay. more

I stayed in El Lagar for 3 nights in August and loved the place. My room was facing on to the street but it wasn't as noisy as I had expected. The hot water in the shower took ages to heat up but there was a notice to that effect so I didn't get into a cold shower! The house... more
