Sol Cataratas makes a good choice for travellers who are willing to stay a bit further from the main road and get a taste of the "jungle" (selva). However, this means you don't have much of a choice when it comes to dinner - you either buy something on ypur way back, either eat what the hotel can offer. Rooms... More

I agree w/Lisa S. This place is horrible at best. It was my 2nd trip to the Falls so I knew of the city center area and had expected to stay there. Unfortunately I ended up at Sol Cataratas. First it's in a "jungle" environment close to NOTHING that you could walk to. Told there was a restaurant/bar. No restaurant,... More

Pretty much a standard 3 star stay. Located outside of town about a half hours sweaty walk away. Pros *nice pool area. *friendly reception staff. *comfortable rooms. * air con. * good air con. *tv though I didn't use it. *fridge for your own drinks. *Reliable wifi but a tad slow. Cons *No hot food with your breakfast bar toast.... More

Any traveler would agree a lock on the door is expected at any hotel. Clearly not the case at this "place". Three rooms later we still could not get a room with doors that locked...in the forest with no phone working in the mold filled room to call the front desk because apparently that would be an amenity too. There... More

We went to see the falls not spend time in the hotel, so it served our needs as it is clean and not expensive. Staff was nice, and overall we had a nice time there. Good value for the price, would recommend.

We stayed here in October, 2012, as part of a package. Excellent value for the price. The room was simple but fine for our needs, the grounds splendid with rooms in separate small buildings scattered through the semi-jungle. Lovely pool in a beautiful setting. Helpful and friendly staff, not much language difficulty. Breakfast acceptable to good. Location is fairly remote,... More

As other reviewers have said, this is pretty much a place to sleep only. There is a lovely pool if you do have leisure time, but the hotel is really inconveniently far from town. The room I had was clean and functional, with a TV, miniature fridge, good aircon, hairdryer and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and small soaps. Towels varied from... More

Our room was fine - simple and clean. We must give special thanks to Christian at the desk who was very helpful and most pleasant. The pool area looked nice but we did not use it. There was indoor and outdoor seating available in and around the lobby area. The sounds of birds and insects gave you the pleasant feeling... More

The room was comfortable enough, but quite spartan. The pillows had an unpleasant smell--like too many people had sweated through the pillow case and the smell impregnated the pillow. There was a very large black spider in the room, but since this is the jungle, I guess that's to be expected. The reception area and dining area are one vast... More

I stayed only one night here to visit the falls from the Argentinean side, so I have a limited experience. But the hotel is quite nice, just decent three-star quality. The lobby and restaurant are in one big room, with some "obstacles" to make them look separate. The rooms are in different buildings with about 8 rooms per building (I... More
