We loved our stay at Posada la bonita. The staff are SO sweet, friendly and helpful. The food was simple and delicious. The room was also plain but comfortable and excellent with plenty of breathing space. This is a relaxed and laid back place and not somewhere for people who want chi chi trappings and glitz. The waterfall is just... More

Highs... very friendly and caring staff, private waterfall was magical, hammocks on the deck were relaxing and the wood fired shower was romantic. Lows... cost of lunches were not advertised and expensive for what they were, transfer costs are not included; if you want to go for long walks in the jungle you need to go elsewhere as the lodge... Some reviewers complained about lack of TV/Net/Phone access, but to me is an advantage, when you **really** need to unplug yourself there is no better place, the cabins are rustic (the furniture in entirely made of locally produced wood) and comfy, even when the weather was hot and humid, the cabins stayed fresh, and by night you could leave the... Sure, the waterfall is beautiful, but we felt like the price was way too high, especially since there was a 2 day minimum stay. The not so good: The drive from the main road is completely unpaved and takes about 20 mins. Not only is there no internet, there's no cell service at all, and the actual property doesn't even... The disadvantage of the location and getting there, is the advantage of real wildlife, peace and paradise.

Maybe this lodge HAS been beautiful when it opened. Now it is horribly run down and service is basic at best. No restaurant as promised, basic home cooked food, the room cold and primitive, rotten roof on balcony, plastic chairs and dirty sun beds..... If the waterfall would not have been really beautiful we would have left at once. The... More

Well the food was pretty good, though there was only one restaurant and I certainly could only see 2 or maybe 3 cabins. There was a waterfall with a scenic path along the river which was nice and so was the view from the cabin but nothing else was suggested for the second day even though I'd had a brief... More

Like best kept secrets, la Bonita hides in the heart of Misiones´s jungle awaiting to reveal itself to curious souls that dare to taste a little bit more out of life. Getting there it´s quite an experience!! You follow a red road with a green view that devours every stress leftover. At the end of the journey, you arrive to... More
