An interesting example of faded grandeur. The hotel looks reasonable from the lobby but starting with the lifts with the strange twang, you'll realise the glory days of the rest of it are long past and it's in need of a refresh and probably a clean. The location is good and room price is good - very tricky to rate places like this. My room was ok, the old ultra shortpile carpet wasn't very appealing but the rest was fine. I did note one dead insect on the carpet near the wardrobe on the second day. I also noted the window latch on one window was broken on second day, both rivets had popped off. Breakfast was the usual humble Argentinian pastries you'll find are common in budget hotels. WiFi was a bit ropey but ok for a quick skype and some low bandwidth vpn use. Check out was slow. Almost seemed like the staff had never charged a credit card before. It turned out a lot of Argentina is like this - things take far longer than you'd expect. If you have a car check the charges for parking before you book. If you have a tall vehicle check the height clearance too.

Despite its good location (few blocks to San Martin Sq), the hotel installations are old. There's carpet all over the the hallway and rooms, which was terrible since I'm allergic to dust mite. The curtains didn't help either. Also, The air conditioner is not controlled from the room and I couldn't leave the window opened because there were a lot of pigeons there. I'd booked for 3 nights, but stayed for only one instead. Terrible experience.

This is an older hotel just a two block walk from the city centre—defined as the Plaza San Martin and cathedral. Several streets in the centre are pedestrian, which makes it a great area to walk around in. We arrived early after an overnight bus from Mendoza and had requested access to our rooms ASAP. They did not disappoint. After checking in we were shown to our rooms and immediately crashed for four hours. The hotel is worn at the edges but is clean and comfortable with excellent service. The breakfast buffet could have been better—a few more options like fresh fruit, which was in season in Argentina—but the hotel is excellent value for money, particularly given its location.

Not a nice place to stay. Old and smelly carpet allover the hotel, there is a central air conditioning that you have no control of ( no thermostat ) plus the air conditioning vents are filthy. Scarry! Breakfast pretty bad ..coffee and lots of bread . Front desk service like the wifi; poor. Would never return or recommend to anyone.

The hotel is old and need lots of repairs. The room you a have a bed a desk and not much else. The air condition vent was filth and one can not control it , ( no thermostat ) Internet was also pretty bad. There is a computer at the lobby for guest to use but it is so slow that is frustrating. Breakfast was included, but very poor choice, no fruits whatsoever, there was corn flakes and bread that is it. Would not go back or recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for a week for a conference. The good news is that as advertised it is a very central location, the linens were clean, and the rooms were indeed cleaned well every day. Free WiFi worked easily and efficiently in our room.Outside of that... - the "down" button in the elevator never lit up. We had no idea if the elevator would even come -some of the other buttons in the elevator did not light up - do they work or not -often during "rush hours" one of the two elevators was often blocked off. This made for long waits in a 9-story hotel. - most of the staff don't understand or speak English, but those who did were very helpful - there is a notice in the room that it is forbidden to bring food into the room - there was rust around the sink faucets - when we opened the curtains the first time the curtain rod became detached from the wall -the carpet in the very dank, and occasionally smelling of mildew, hall was clearly laid on top of a narrower rug - there were many signs of peeling paint and wet walls throughout the hotel - when we asked for two keys (real keys - no magnetic cards) they didn't have another set to give us - no safe in the room -no refrigerator or minibar in the room In short it appeared that the hotel had not been refurbished since it had been built (guessing 40-50 years ago), and it looks and feels just that - old and tired.

Very old, careless, there is not minibar, there is not air conditioning for each room. I felt insecure because it is all carpeted, with poor electrical installations. Smoking is allowed in the rooms (have ashtrays). The floor beneath the carpet is made of wood and makes a lot of noise when people walk through the halls. You can hear everything from other rooms, almost impossible to sleep peacefully.

Stayed here for one night. The hotel was fairly old and showed signs of ageing- but was still very comfortable and good hot shower. Central location and I thought the breakfast was awesome!! Argentina breakfasts are very standard across all hotels across the country. This was good with an awesome fresh cut fruit salad and toast and ham and cheese and fresh juice. This is above standard for hotels like this. But wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again.

Very convenient central location and therefore good for a one night visit. However the rooms and corridors are rather gloomy, and the place overall has a dated, past its best feel to it. Worth checking to see if there are better alternatives.
