My husband and I were attending an international convention in Buenos Aires- our first time in Argentina, and we wanted to stay a few days or more in one place beforehand to rest and walk. In our planning, We looked at several places in Mar del Plata, Punta del Este, and Colonia. We kept looking back to the Alpenhaus- the... More

Our tour guide organized this lovely outing. We travelled by train from Buenos Aires to Tigre. Purchased our tickets at booth number#10 .. Cash only. Went by a vintage wooden boat , owned by the Alpenhaus family. A beautiful boat ride out... Amazing scenery. A lovely family run business . We're able to spend the day there . Swimming in... More

I loved our stay here, but I didn't do enough research before visiting. I totally overlooked the cash only policy and had no idea how to take the ferry there. I really don't even have advice on how to do it now...The food and accommodations are wonderful. Sweet dogs and very nice family. Definitely one, if not the most, memorable... More

We were there two days ago at the end of October invited by an Argentinian couple for a snack in the late afternoon. I was impressed ba the place and the hospitality of the owners. The menu is great authentic (we are feom Germany) and looks better than in a restaurant. The food we had was great and the beer... More

We found Alpenhaus by chance over the Internet, and weren´t we lucky! If you come to Buenos Aires, make sure you visit the Rio de la Plata Delta, which is beautiful in extreme and seldom taken into account as one of the basic places to visit. At Alpenhaus we enjoyed a great three day weekend, with beautiful long walks, free... More

We came here based on trip advisor advice and were not disappointed. Bring cash so you don't have to make trips back into Tigre for food/beer money. But the ferry ride is beautiful in the day so no big deal should you have to make the trip. It is a bit of a chore to get here but once you... More

Well maintained place with Austrian/German/Swiss soul, cold beer, eisbein, sauerkraut, possibility for nice walks over rickety bridges, friendly dogs, German language training, hammocks, pool and view of boats of all kinds. A nice place for a day trip or as we did for staying the night.

we wanted a real 'delta experience' and found it at alpenhaus. Owners were gracious, food was excellent, and our every need was met. Room was spacious, and comfortable. Getting into the delta was delightful- an antidote to the busy Buenos Aires- and seeing the life on the water-where everything comes via boat- food, drink, healthcare, church, school bus- made the... A friend and I stumbled upon Alpenhaus in April of 2011 and stayed one night. To put things in perspective you need to understand the surrounding area of Tigre. I'm not sure you are going to find any 4 or 5 star resorts ala the Ritz or 4 Seasons. Get over it. Tigre isn't that place. It is a weird... More
