I liked Patricia, really. Nice lady who seemingly wanted her guests to enjoy their stay. That's about all I can say that is good unfortunately. The roof leaked so badly in our room that we couldn't sleep because of the sound of water dripping on the wood floor. The wood floor itself had numerous splits in the planks that had... More

We stayed at the Baucis Hotel in March 2011. We paid a credit card deposit from Australia and then paid the balance when we arrived and stayed for 3 days. Exactly 1 year later, our credit card that we used to pay the deposit had the equivalent of $600 debited to it. I reported it to my credit card provider... More

when we got to the place, it turns our room wasn't available, because the roof fell off. if we had arrived a little earlier, the roof would come down over our heads. having a safety hazard in your hostel is not cool at all. they offered a totally horrible room, which looked like it wasn't even finished. the bathroom door... As soon as the taxi drop us at the door we should have imagined what a place this was... The building is a run down, old construction. Once we arrived to our room, we were surprised and in awe. The ceiling was falling apart and pieces of plaster were on the floor. The toilet door was not working as it... More

This hotel is located in Palermo Hollywood's neighborhood, where every night you can visit a different restaurant or bar, lots of variety and good atmosphere. The hotel is a refurbished old house, a romantic and beautiful place , spacious, and vintage furniture. But there is a important point to comment: "breakfast." We were told that was until 11:30 in the... More

We got the budget room - and even though it was up two flights of stairs and with the toilet basically out in the open and with a shower that consistently flooded the room - I still recommend Bacuis for anyone on a budget. The staff workers are tremendously gracious (internet and breakfast were not included in our rate, but... More

After 6 weeks of traveling Argentina solo, my boyfriend was supposed to meet me for a very romantic 5 days in Buenos Aires together. Unfortunately, the volcano in Chile had other plans, and my boyfriend never made it to BA, which I found out the morning we were to check in to the hotel. We had booked the best suite... More

Not a hotel for the sterile chain hotel loving tourist l, but a characterful genuine boutique (unlike so many who claim that title) on the edge of Palermo, the most stylish part of Buenos Aires. The room was large, nicy furnished (including a large comfortable bed) with a clean bathroom featuring a jacuzzi bath. No problem with security as the... More

We stayed at the Baucis as part of a "romance" package that they offered through a Groupon-type site and I was very disappointed. If you're a budget traveler, this may be the place for you, but don't expect much. The hotel is relatively clean which may be one of it's only positives. From the lobby to the rooms, the hotel... Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
