We stayed at this hotel and loved it. The food was good. The atmosphere pleasant. Because there are so many taxi's every where in Buenos Aires, we could either walk every where and take a taxi back, or just take a taxi. There are good restaurants, clubs and clubs in this area.

This hotel is situated in a good location, near many touristy attractions. The hotel seem tired but it's still ok. The check in was effective but I wouldn't call it friendly. This is a gay hotel but I didn't feel anything gay about it. our room was very small and faces the pool. The design is very weird and I... More

The lobby looks great at this hotel with the open staircase to the glass bottom pool on the roof however once you enter the room it goes a lot more basic. When I first entered the room I thought it has no windows but turns out that the cupboard s are either side of the window with sliding doors which... More

Nice hotel, but you feel that it is a old hotel. The rooms are nice, the bathrooms are special. And the swimmingpool outside is good. And there are towels. Close to nice places. Good for 1 or 2 nights

This is my second stay here, although it was Axel before. It is true that the rooms are looking a little tired now but they are still comfortable and spotlessly clean. The beds in the rooms overlooking the garden are large and provide excellent sleeping. The room's layout is also a relief from the usual plan that most hotels unimaginatively... More

Located in the heart of San Telmo neighborhood, this hotel was the ancient AXEL hotel. The staff is really friendly when you try and speak few words of Spanish. Knowing how to say Hello and Thank you can really open you doors. The rooms on the pool side are very quiet. I had the 103, it was right. The design... More

On a recent visit to Buenos Aires we were searching for a hotel in the downtown area close enough for us to take the shuttle bus to the airport when we were going to leave. We came upon the BE Hotel and booked a room and, quite frankly, made the best choice we could have hoped for. Just before entering... More

My first experience at the lobby of the hotel wasn't the best. We came with lots of bags (it was a long trip and we were bringing books and other things home) and the girl on the front desk was helping other people and more people came after us... She asked us to sit and wait. Then when it was... More

We stayed in three hotels (including the Be Trimos Hotel) on our trip and had the best experience at this one. Pros: The staff are wonderful. Especially Pablo at the front desk. Exceedingly helpful and courteous. He had wonderful suggestions, wrote out maps for me, looked for a box for me to take home a fragile item -- all with... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
