Friendly hostel with very helpful staff. I was only at the hostel for one night, but enjoyed my stay. I was unfortunate enough to have my bag stolen in BA, but he staff were very helpful in helping me cancel cards etc. Good breakfast too.

The house is old and very charming. The room was spacious. There is a shared kitchen and living room, good to meet people and chat! There is a nice atmosphere around this place. But as our room was next to the living room, it was noisy at night. The sheets were clean but stained; there was no bedside lamp. The... More

I would say that this is not the best hostel I've stayed at but considering the price and location I would say that is very reasonable. The rooms were ok and not to noisy. The bathrooms need to be a bit upgraded. The staff was very friendly and nice to me and all the helps I had about Buenos Aires.

There's not much to see or do around the hostel, but the buses take you anywhere easily. The staff is really nice and helpful. The worst thing about the room was the fact that the sheets were quite dirty. Also I saw quite a few bugs running around, which is why I didn't want to spend too much time there.

I really liked the hostel, specially Mirian's tips and recommendations :) The room was clean, breakfast was good and the location is perfect. It's very close to the cafes and the subway station. There are many good restaurants near it. :)

We are staying at a double bed room, but the bed is so terrible that my back is killing me. The matress is over two single beds, so there's a "mountain" between us. And the guys at the bedroom next door are so noisy we couldn't sleep. Besides that, David at the front desk is very helpful and the hotel... More

This hotel is located in the Congress neighbourhood. It's generally OK during the day, but you might want to think twice before walking alone in this area at night. It is a relatively central location though and close to the Subte (subway) The staff were generally good and friendly, however they were unable to give simple recommendations such as a... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
