The Hotel Costa Rica was a pleasant surprise in the busy city of Buenos Aires. It has a lovely entrance door and once inside, the helpful staff made it a joy to stay there. Interesting architecture. I'm not sure when it was remodeled. The bathroom are a bit dark and stark for my taste. Seemed to be a bit masculine.... More

The hotel is centrally located in Palermo. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are simple but clean and quiet. The only thing i missed is a real view out of the window. The rate is ok and breakfast is an extra 50 pesos which includes a coffee, 2 croissants and an orange juice. Safety is high as you... More

The HCR is a very stylish and cozy boutique hotel just a few blocks to the east of a great neighborhood. We very much enjoyed lingering in the breezy lobby and on the terrace. The people working there were wonderful: friendly, helpful and genuinely caring about their guests. The rooms were simple but spotless. The location on a relatively quiet... More

We booked Hotel Costa Rica for our 3-night stay in Buenos Aires based on the location, price, and reviews. We were really happy with our choice and came back to stay an extra day. The design is clean and modern, but has lots of character and old-world charm- it reminds me of Buenos Aires in general, so it was a... More

We stayed 3 nights in Buenos Aires and enjoyed it so much we re-booked on our return. The staff was more than friendly. They took a personal interest in their guests. They not only answered questions thoroughly but offered personal advice and experiences. I was astonished to be offered assistance on a level that I would only expect from a... More

and handy to the "must do" things in Palermo. The Hotel is quaint, simply furnished, clean and unique in plan. There are several small common areas including a small bar. Wifi in the common area only. Seems it may have been a Bank or Lawyer's Office originally with many extensions The rooms are small.................very small. If downstairs you get the... More

Very well located and with a friendly staff. Lots of people from France. The rooms are clean and maybe a little close together but overall it's a great value. Nice atmosphere and decoration. The terrasse on the top floor is great too.

We stayed here for 2 nights and we liked it. It's located in a very nice building with large doors and lots of beautiful sitting areas. The rooms with shared bathroom, on the rooftop, are good but sometimes it can be noisy. The breakfast is not included but there are plenty of places in the neighbourhood to eat. The receptions... We are backpackers travelling for 1 year and found this hotel on booking.com. We stayed in a budget room with shared bathroom located at the top of the hotel on the roof terrace. The price for a double actually worked out cheaper than staying in a hostel!! The hotel was very chilled out and stylishly decorated. It even has a... More

Great hotel for a few days in beautiful Palermo. Very modern, trendy furnishings, and a sleek upstairs terrace perfect for cocktails in the evening. The staff was very gracious and helpful with directions and recommendations. Although we didn't have a chance to utilize it, there was a sauna room that looked wonderfully relaxing. The only downside was that they don't... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
