I stayed here for a week and my experience was outstanding! The hostel is large, has a great bar where you can meet people easily, a computer area, a huge kitchen with a balcony AND a terrace on the 5thfloor that overlooks the city. The staff is amazing, friendly, and so helpful! You can tell they are not just working... More

Beautiful hostel with very friendly and helpful staff. Awesome little bar and classes(yoga, salsa) in the hostel. Walking distance to everything, safe area. I ended up staying longer than expected...truly great experience.

We wanted to take several days to visited Buenos Aires without being rushed. We were almost two weeks at the hostel and we did not even notice. The kitchen and dining area upstairs (2nd floor) is magnificent, unique. Thxs to all the staff.

Ostinatto is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The STAFF is what makes it so awesome! Everybody there is so helpful, and they really care whether the guests are having a good time and getting to the places that they want to see. Andres, Pedro, Mar and the owners and workers really knock themselves out to make it... More

I really liked this hostel that is situated in a nice area in Buenos Aires. The staff is nice, young, motivated and helpfull. I like the kitchen room (you can cook your own food) and big table to have breakfast and meet other travellers. I appreciated the Big pot of Dulce de Leche for breakfast ! The dorm was confortable... I was never an actual guest there. I was always only a guest of guests in the afternoons and evenings. I found the hostel to be very cool in decoration and style. Super knowledgeable, friendly staff. Crazy many activities going on that you could participate in. From my experience this was a great, sociable hostel with very many cool activites... More

I stayed there last year and prefered same for this year. And I am sure I will stay in Ostinatto Hostel whenever I visit Buenos Aires in future. Best location, great staff, value for money. The building is 7 floor with different design. Highly recommended.

Awoken by a drunk staff member sitting on my bed pulling open my shorts at 7am new years day. He had no business being in my dorm and absolutely no business touching me. Staff have excused the incident because a) he was drunk, b) it was new years eve and c) he didn't actually hurt me. I'm shocked and disappointed.... More

We stayed at Ostinatto for 4 nights before we finally found a better place to stay. The hostel is big, crowded, very loud and dirty, especially the bathrooms are discusting! The staff are really nice and helpful though and they were always ready to give advise and recommendations about the city. Would not choose to stay there again though.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
