I ended up staying in the Ostinatto Hostel for 10 days when I had only planned to stay a couple of nights. The hostel is quite big, it´s over 5 floors and it has a bar but there are also quieter areas if you just want to relax. The beds are comfortable and there is always hot water in the... More

I spent 4 nights there whilst traveling alone. The staff were incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. They all speak English. There are daily recommended activities to make the most of your time in the city. The hostel is clean and situated close to the metro and main road for bus stops. It is in a very quaint area... I spent a couple of nights at this hostel and I really liked the vibe. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a selection of breads and cereals with tea / coffee and some apples (I think?). Wifi is a bit dodgy at times. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are fairly clean too. There's an on site bar with... More

This is clearly a well experienced travellers hostel, fro the first moment everything is easy and the staff are really helpful. Kitchen is excellent. The area is great and the hostel have a great time table for activities. Only issue is the terrible wifi, it's wasn't even very busy when we stayed yet it was terrible. But for the price... More

I stayed here for a week and my experience was outstanding! The hostel is large, has a great bar where you can meet people easily, a computer area, a huge kitchen with a balcony AND a terrace on the 5thfloor that overlooks the city. The staff is amazing, friendly, and so helpful! You can tell they are not just working... More

We wanted to take several days to visited Buenos Aires without being rushed. We were almost two weeks at the hostel and we did not even notice. The kitchen and dining area upstairs (2nd floor) is magnificent, unique. Thxs to all the staff.

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
