Although centrally located, one block from Av. 9 de Julio, near pedestrian shopping streets (Lavalle and Florida), bus stops and subway stations, the hotel’s street (Suipacha) gets really unsafe after 10pm; one staff member warned me against numerous robberies by night. At this time, Suipacha is under construction, one very narrow path on each side allows the street access; if... More

Do not stay here. I've had better service at hostels. When we walked in, the hotel didn't have room for us and put us in another hotel a block away. It wasn't far, but not what we booked. The room wasn't ready or clean, so he asked us to go for a lunch or something while it was cleaned. When... More

we stayed for 4 days the last week of May - 2013 I'll start with the few positives: 1) The location is really good, just a few blocks from Corrientes and the Obelisco. 2) Housekeeping seems to do a good job 3) Even though some reviews say the area is kind of ugly late at night, we didn't really feel... I was walking around at 3AM looking for a room and the front desk clerk gave major attitude when I arrived at the front door. The area surrounding the hotel isn't the best in BA. The city has many accomodation options, so a reccomend to go somewhere else.

I stayed here on an Intrepid Tour for 3 days. The rooms are very basic but the location cannot be beat- right off the 9 de Julio a block or so from the Obelisk, on a very quiet street. Walking distance to great shopping and near the Opera House and tango shows. I have no complaints about the service. Breakfast... More

We stayed here as part of an intrepid journey, and apart from the central location, we did not enjoy our stay. Wifi kept dropping off, shower leaked into the hallway, big hole in one of our towels, stained and holey sheets, terrible service on the front desk, and overall did not feel very clean. Would not stay again and think... More

I stayed here as part of an Intrepid Tour. LOCATION was quite central, walking distance to many attractions including the city tour bus, pink palace, and the Colon theatre. Beware of the "IRISH PUB" located across the road! It is not an Irish pub. As soon as you walk in, scantilly clad women (not attractive at all, btw) cling to... More

Rooms are run down and not the cleanest. Air conditioning didn't work. Water overflowed from the shower and went everywhere. Breakfast was basic. Stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour. I have stayed in much worse places, but would not have stayed here out of my own choice. Other hotels offer much better value elsewhere in the city. Intrepid... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby.
