Linas guesthouse is located in San telmo with walking distance to many great restaurants and the plaza. The rooms are beautiful with hearing and a fan. We stayed in room 103 with ensuite which was just great. Also a fridge for food. There is a communial kitchen for food and the breakfast each morning is good. Lina helped with everything... More

I loved the atmosphere at this guest house and felt very safe as well. the courtyard was nice and quiet and sheltered. The hotel was in a great location and very close to downtown. Lina was very helpful.

It was my mum's dream to dance tango in Buenos Aires so I took her in April and we picked Lina's place. Before we even arrived we were well looked after with Lujan organising a pick up from the airport (US$45). She even sent us a picture so we knew who to look for...a lovely chap called Marcelino. We had... More

Lina's guesthouse was our home in Buenos Aires for three weeks. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The courtyard was an oasis from the bustle of the city and provided a place where we could meet the other guests from all over the world. We often used the well equiped kitchen when we wanted to prepare a simple... More

Let's start with the good: the rooms facing the courtyard were lovely. Linens were nice, the room had a fridge and hair dryer, and everything was very clean. The courtyard - despite some mosquitos -- was a great place to unwind and enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. Other guests were friendly, and hotel staff were... More

Who: a couple in their mid twenties Pro: The staff is Superb! Super helpful and kind. Lina gave us some great local resturant recommendations (non touristy and so very delicious) and even let us use her subte metro card when ours had no money. So incredibly nice and thoughtful. Room: clean and comfortable bed. Loved the outdoor space. Perfect breakfast... More

Lina's Tango Guesthouse is a lovely find in the heart of one of the most romantic and charismatic neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires. Lina herself was there to welcome us to her lovely home. Lina knows pretty much every tango show or 'milling' in the city, so if you want to watch, learn of dance tango, she is your go-to guide.... More

This is a very nice and friendly Argentinian Style Guesthouse and the stuff is very lovely and helpful in all situations. I enjoyed my time there very much and the great hospitality. The community table at the patio has always an informal, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where it is easy to get in contact with other travelers and tango dancers.... More

A lovely place to stay. A real guesthouse, not a hotel ! Wonderfull hospitality. Very nice information what to do. Lina knows exactly what you want and give you excellent advise. You can buy your own meal, cooking in the kitchen and eat in the hall.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
