We really enjoyed our stay at the Ulises Recoleta Suites; friendly staff, comfortable rooms and in walking distance to restaurants / shops / tourist village. Recoleta is a beautiful part of the city which must be visited by all!

This boutique hotel was a very convenient and comfortable home for a 5-day honeymoon getaway in BA. The location in the middle of Recoleta is not only convenient but also safe and fairly quiet as far as the big city goes. Tons of nearby conveniences like cafes, restaurants, parks, mini-mercados/kiosks. It is the heart of BA's old money and super... More

Candidly, didn't stay recently but wanted to return to TA to write the review. It's a boutique(small) place, and staff is wonderful. This is THE neighborhood. Upscale, safe, and plenty of window shopping. Super convenient to many of the great eateries, and of course the Recoleta cemetery. A hidden (?) gem.

We stayed at the Ulises for a week will my wife attended a conference next door at the very pricy Avlear Palace Hotel next door. At the Ulises we that the rooms, breakfast, and proximity to local attractions are great, but the most impressive part to us was the service by the front desk. We had several days to explore... I stayed here for one night in July 2014, prior to departing B.A. for Cordoba. It is directly across the street from the Alvear Palace in the Recoleta neighborhood. The price was great, and the breakfast looked good (was not included in my rate, so I didn't dine there). My room as large enough, with a clean bathroom. The power... More

Just spent 5 days here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This boutique hotel is 2 blocks from Recoletta cemetery and the most popular La Biela Cafe, across the road from the 5 star Avlear Palace Hotel and a 5-10 minute walk from 5 other palaces. Safe area with nice residential walking areas as well as boutiques and higher end shops.... More

The Ulises was our home for four days following a 37-day cruise. We liked it and would stay there again. Everything about our stay was positive. George and Jonatun (sp?) at the front desk were key to our satisfaction, from welcoming us when we arrived several hours early to obtaining a good private cab ride to the distant airport when... Stayed here in late Dec and towards the end of January, beside the Alvear hotel and very close to Recoleta cemetery. this is a very safe part of the city. Pleasant and clean accommodation, friendly staff. Very comfortable bed, the addition of a small kitchenette makes all the difference when you want to have a cup of tea or heat... More

This is a small hotel located across from Alvear near the park and cemetery and just afew blocks from the subway. We found it to be ideal for us-friendly, convenient, reasonably priced with a larger room than we expected in the quiet rear. The staff are pleasant, helpful, spoke very good English and made our stay very enjoyable. Esteban was... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
