My husband and I booked in here for a few nights once we arrived in BA and it very quickly began to feel like home... we ended up staying for 2 weeks :) staff are a fantastic bunch- laid back, really helpful and great company! Think this would also be an ideal place if you are travelling solo as it... More

The lime house close to the obelisc is a very good hostel! Furniture is simple but very comfortable. The very best is the staff! Always friendly and helpful! They are great! Thank you! If you want, there are good parties, they have a rooftop to barbecau as well - and that all in the center of buenos aires! Not to... More

The location is amazing (if you want to walk by the famous places), and it's near the bus terminal and metro, so you can go whatever you want and comeback ( the buses work nonstop). It isn't a castel for princes and queens, but you can have a lot of fun there. :)

The lady behind the desk didn't give us a very welcoming feeling and after showing us the room the depressing feeling became complete. if we had seen the dorm before we definately wouldn't have checked-in. the 12 dorm is just stuffed with metal bunk beds with torn sheets. there is little light and the building and toilets look dirty. It... More

Limehouse is the perfect place to experience Bs As. Is a lovely old house, decorated with colours that show how fresh and homey is the spirit of the hostel. Everyone who works there were really nice and helpfull. The common areas are great, a tv room, a dinner with huge tables and a big kitchen with lots of space and... More

We really liked our 3 nights stay in this hostel. What we liked most are the common areas: very spacious, with a huge table, a living room with sofas and tv, a comfortable kitchen. The free breakfast was pretty generous compared to most hostels: two croissants, a bowl of corn flakes with milk, an orange, coffee or tea for each... More

We stayed one night at this hostel and it was already too much. At our arrival, the staff asked us to pay 400$Arg, which is 150$Arg more than our reservation on booking.com. This place is very noisy , the mastress is not comfortable at all. The bathroom are very dirty and sometimes don't have any lock... The only positive point... More

I really do not have high standards when booking hostels. I am not expecting luxury, but even I have my limits. Ill start with the positives. The location is fantastic with everything you need nearby. It is also very cheap. Breakfast is basic, about on par with most cheap hostels. Now for the not so positives. It's falling apart, I... Nice hostel, nice atmosphere, nice people, quite clean. Pretty cheap rooms and breakfast included. We stayed up until late talking to everyone, happy-hour 24/7. Nice receptionists and touristic advice :)

Worst hostel I have ever stayed at. We had booked well in advance for 3 of us in a 4 bed mixed dorm, however the owners son decided he wanted to sleep in the room so we had to squish the 3 of us in a tiny run down room on a double bed (after a 40 hour flight), not... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
