This is a hostel. Hostels should not cost $70 USD for a room that does not have a queen size bed and the shower is on top of the toilet. To make matters worse -- the toilet did not work for half of our 2 night stay. We only stayed 2 nights because we had paid in advance. The room... more

Don't believe anything you see on the Che Lulu website. The double ensuite rooms DO NOT have queen-size beds (it's barely a double), the shower is literally on top of the toilet, and the room was freezing. We paid to cancel and stay elsewhere. After staying in hostels all over the world, I can't believe this place gets any hype.... more

This place is not trendy - It is dirty and very noisy if you are in the front as the road at the corner is virtually a highway through downtown. The owner uses the downstairs as his party room so that hotel guests paying a lot of money cant watch tv. When I asked to change rooms I was shown... more

My husband and I stayed at Che Lulu for four days this June during our trip to BA. I can't say enough good things about the young people who were our hosts. All of them spoke English flawlessly, were extremely and friendly, and SO helpful in making reservations for dinner and giving advice and directions for traveling around the city.... more

I've stayed at Che Lulu in Feb 2007 for the first time and I went back two weeks ago to spend a few days in Buenos Aires. I've been in several hotels but I believe this one has the best staff ever, giving good directions, attending any concernings and with a great customer service! The rooms were repainted and they... more

Me and my partner stayed here for one night after the youth hostel we were booked into refused to honour our booking, demanding we pay them again (I'll review separately). Don't get me wrong, this place isn't the ritz, but the service was second to none. The staff really make this place. When we explained our predicament and the times... more

You'll see a lot of bad reviews for Che Lulu here. They're wholly misguided. How much are the complainers expecting for a $65 room in a city of 12 million? Could you find friendly people, clean rooms, and a big complimentary breakfast in downtown NY or LA for only $65? Che Lulu isn't the Ritz Carlton, but it's a wonderful... more

Advertised as "a trendy hotel" and rated well in guide books...this is a dump. The only worse hotel room I have ever stayed in was in Bande Ache Indonesia after the Tsunami. In fact it was so bad we forfeited a 30% deposite and found another hotel. The hotel staff was very nice though...I think they understood. It was not... more
