Ok service, ok breakfast The value of the hotel is ok, you get what you pay for, but the location is great. A couple of blocks from La Florida St, a couple of blocks from Leandro N Ave. It is easy to get taxis and there are a couple of restaurants around and also minimarkets.

Our stay in this hotel was arranged by our travel agent. We were going down to Ushuaia and after having a long wait in Santiago we didn't want another one in Buenos Aires so had arranged for private transfer from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport the next morning. The room we had (on the 9th... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group to begin with then when we had finished the tour we were happy to book extra nights because it is clean breakfast is quite adequate the rooms are big and the hair dryers work as do the lifts... fairly fast and efficient. The best aspect is the location. Walking... More

I was a bit worried about staying here after reading some of the posts on here. How wrong they were. I think this hotel is brilliant. There is always staff on reception and they really care about the clients. I had a room with a balcony which was really fun to have as it was very hot that week. The... More

Our stay at the Waldorf was somewhat marred by the fact we had one of our bags stolen by someone who walked into the hotel off the street while we were checking in! The hotel has CCTV so we were able to view the whole incident later, and of course we reported it to the local police who were very... More

I stayed here twice, once for three nights and as a stop over on the way to the airport. The reception is small and the staff only do what they have to. WiFi works. The location is okay for the airport and ferry port, but it not really 'central'. I walked everywhere and it was always easy to find, because... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel is pretty basic. we had some problems with our bathroom but they fixed it. It is located near the Florida st. which is nice but it's not really in the center of the city and the area can be a little dodgy at night. staff were very helpful, upgraded our room. About WIFI -... I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour and found it a perfect base for exploring the city. It felt safe at night, a little noisy because it is such a narrow street outside which can barely fit tour coaches. Internet in reception worked fine and the staff were helpful with arranging a taxi to take me to the... More

Stayed here with a group of 21 young people for one night, bit of hassle at check in "quadruple twin"??. Very basic hotel but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental but was ok for our needs. Did not feel like the safest part of town... Bit of hassle getting three safety deposit boxes even though we had 8 rooms!... More

Wow, for 3 stars I thought this hotel would look like a Motel 6 or a Best Western- no frills but clean. Yikes! Our double room was teeny-tiny, with a scalding hot shower (almost burned myself!) and the bedspreads were stained- big stains! The room was pretty clean otherwise, though it needs a serious update. The walls are paper thin... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
