Stayed here first for 1 week, left for 5 days, and then stayed for another week and a half.. Absoloutely loved it! The people, the atmosphere, everything.. The breakfast is a basic argentinian breakfast, but that's just how it is.. The location is great, because it is pretty close to everything, and there are several busstops right outside, so you... We really enjoyed our stay here, the hostel is in a super convenient central location (close to walking tour), cool common area with a cute bar and good friendly vibes - always something going on but not too rowdy all the time - and decent rooms. Lots of transient staff some of whom were a little inexperienced but always willing... More

The first appearance that I got entering the hostel was good, or at least decent, as I was not expecting a luxury resort for such a low price. However, I couldn't sleep because of the incredible amount of noise coming from the common area. I don't have nothing against people drinking and having fun but that was way over the... More

One of my favorite hostels all across South America. Buenos aires is absolutely amazing and this hostel is in the middle of it all! Harvey the owner is the best, as are the rest of the staff, they really make it feel like you're living in a big fun share house or something. Beds are not the greatest and neither... More

Lively & friendly hostel near the centre of Buenos Aires. Excellent staff - really helpful. On the downside it tends to be a bit noisy late into the evening & the shower & toilet facilities are a little cramped ( but clean ).Good free wi-fi is available in the rooms.

I stayed for 3 days with 2 more friends and we had a really good time. We spent one of the night playing beerpong with some other travellers, we had a blast, EXCELLENT location! The showers could be a little bit better, but nothing to worry about. Staff was friendly and helpful

The guy at reception is amazing. His name is Havi or Javi or something like that. So helpful. Rooms were clean and bathrooms also. Always hot water and wifi in common room. Breakfast same as other hostels. A bit noisy at night but thats fine. Great value for money!

This was the first hostel of an 8 month trip. It is a lively hostel ,it's called 'Rock Hostel' not the chillout zone. We stayed in a private room which was good as we could lock the door when they had one of their open parties where the local students and friends of the workers come round and have a... More

I spent two days at the Rockhostel in Buenos Aires. It really deserves its name, One night we had a private concert in the living room. I had so much fun, I will definitely come back here. The staff is friendly and always willing to help.

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
