Middle class hotel, not 4 stats but good value for the money. Some of the straff speaks english, some dont, but everyone was very helpful and we tried our best communicating with bodylanguage. Rooms are not new, and beds too soft, but works for just sleeping. Excellent location, walking distance to pretty much everywhere. Breakfast ok.

Really disappointing. The beds were some of the worst beds I've ever slept on. They were so old and sunken that I would wake up in the morning with an aching back. For a 4 star hotel, the hotel also didn't have air conditioning. As it was really hot, it was quite an uncomfortable stay. Breakfast was pretty good. Service... More

I was there only for one night, because it.s close to the harbour, I thought it would be convenient to take the early ship to Uruguai but it.s not worth it at all. Staff was ok, not too nice to other guests that didnt speak spanish. The room was very old and very dirty. My bedshits had a blood stain... More

Very clean quiet hotel. Good shower and good breakfast. On arrival safe in room did not work so we were promptly moved to another room. Concierge very helpful and is a good English speaker. We stayed here in 2004 and enjoyed our stay here in 2015 and the rate charged was nearly the same!

This was a big let down. I stayed there in three different occasions, mostly so I wouldn't need to pay cancellations. The beds MUST be improved, they're at your knees height but it feels you went to the ground as you go to sleep. The room on the 5th was better, but on the other rooms, everything was very old... I stayed here and was moved to three different rooms as either the safe or TV didn't work. The rooms were shabby, dirty and smelly. The staff unhelpful, surly and rude. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my whole life. Doesn't even qualify for 2 star let alone 4. Stay away I wouldn't wish it on... More

Pros - Location is central. Cafes and shops are just around the corner and St. Martin's Plaza and other attractions are only a few blocks away. - Internet was free and speed was mostly on sometimes slow. Cons - Reception was not welcoming. I was greeted with frowns not a smile. They couldn't find my reservation which I had made... More

My father-in-law who is elderly, but a fearless traveler found this hotel. After our first Hotel which I won't name but translates to "seen the sun" told us they had extended his reservation but in actuality had not so we found out later. So anyways he packed his one bag and started walking around and happened upon the "Grand King... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
