The hotel has a great and safe location closed to touristic area, shopping streets and malls, night life places, easy access to any other area in BA. Housekeeping is very good, Beds are comfortable, but rooms are not sound-proof at all I suffered from very noisy corridors (the Gym was above my room so you can imagine my life between... More

I selected NH Lancaster due to its proximity to the Centro Cultural Borges, where I was doing work. This hotel is located in the microcenter of Buenos Aires and is close to public transportation, the Galerias Pacifico, and many restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and bilingual, although my companion and I speak Spanish. Check-in and out were a breeze,... More

I made the reservation because the pictures looked amazing. But being there was not that amazing. The 2 days I spent, there were lousy noises because of some repairs in the reception and bar area, adding that to the noise coming from the street. The air conditioning didn't work, the bedroom wasn't clean, I found hair on the pillows.(!!!) Besides... More

Spent two nights in this hotel with a tour group. Overall the hotel was nice and the room comfortable. Unfortunately, our room was directly across the street from the noisy Black & White Bar which was open all night. We did not get a good night's sleep. The included breakfast offered eggs to order. Service however was slow and we... More

It was our first visit to Buenos Aires and we selected this hotel as it was close to the Cruise ship terminal. Our choice worked out well. It was a convenient location which meant we could walk to many of the places we wanted to visit. The check in process was very straightforward. We were happy with our room which... More

The poor internet connection ruined it for me. I am here on business, by the time I get to my room at 11 or 12 or 1 am i don't want to fool with a faulty internet connection. I have to check my office email and once again in the morning. And my time is being wasted. I don't want... More

Stayed 4 nites in April prior to a cruise. Hotel is ideally located for access to great shopping, touring, cruise port. The room was spacious, well-quipped, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, though nothing special. Staff on Reception Desk were always helpful with suggestions and assistance. Would recommend this property for short stays.

Had to change room the day after, which was better. The wifi was really very poor. No connection in the room during 7 days. Had to go close to the... More

All rooms are comfortable and well-appointed but standard rooms are small. Try for the "suites" if possible. Staff are helpful. Many of Buenos Aires' landmarks are within walking distance. Good value if you shop carefully at different sites - prices paid seemed to vary considerably from guest to guest. Breakfast buffet was a standout and offered both American-style coffee and... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
