It was our first visit to Buenos Aires and we selected this hotel as it was close to the Cruise ship terminal. Our choice worked out well. It was a convenient location which meant we could walk to many of the places we wanted to visit. The check in process was very straightforward. We were happy with our room which... More

The poor internet connection ruined it for me. I am here on business, by the time I get to my room at 11 or 12 or 1 am i don't want to fool with a faulty internet connection. I have to check my office email and once again in the morning. And my time is being wasted. I don't want... More

Stayed 4 nites in April prior to a cruise. Hotel is ideally located for access to great shopping, touring, cruise port. The room was spacious, well-quipped, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, though nothing special. Staff on Reception Desk were always helpful with suggestions and assistance. Would recommend this property for short stays.

well positionned down town closed to city center (florida av). First night was very bad because of lot of noise from the street and the widiw did not close well. Had to change room the day after, which was better. The wifi was really very poor. No connection in the room during 7 days. Had to go close to the... More

All rooms are comfortable and well-appointed but standard rooms are small. Try for the "suites" if possible. Staff are helpful. Many of Buenos Aires' landmarks are within walking distance. Good value if you shop carefully at different sites - prices paid seemed to vary considerably from guest to guest. Breakfast buffet was a standout and offered both American-style coffee and... More

The hotel was clean and smart, reception staff very helpful. Our bedroom although fairly small was more than adequate, nicely decorated. Breakfast was buffet, but you can order eggs, bacon and sausage(although the sausage did not arrive) Egg tend to be overdone. The hotel is more suited to business clients, could do with more information for the tourist. The open... More

I stayed a number of times at this hotel in the early 1990's when it had definitely seen better days. I still liked the architecture etc and the large suites. Since being taken over by the NH Group it has been completely renovated - a mix of classic and modern. The rooms are definitely smaller but high quality. Get room... More

We spent the first four nights of our South American holiday in this hotel. We were keen to sample other restaurants so only used the breakfast facilities which were enjoyed. Buenos Aries is a large city but we felt the location was good for its many attractions, some you could walk to and others required a taxi readily available immediately... More

We stayed in this hotel for four (4) nights on a B&B terms. The Lancaster is a small hotel located in Cordoba street in the center of Buenos Aires. The rooms are small even for a couple. We traveled with rather large suitcases which made the room difficult to move in. The location however is very good. The Pacifica Mall... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
