Although located close to Aeroparque Jorge Newberry (AEP) airport, I am not sure this property was worth the price I paid for an overnight stay. The beds in my room were small and not the most comfortable. However, the room was clean and spacious with a nice hot shower. The best part of my stay was the breakfast which had... More

I stayed for 6 nights during March 2014. I used to live in the same area of Palermo until 10 years ago and always remembered the location of the hotel in Calle Cabello , not far from Parque Las Heras, Alto Palermo shopping etc. . The location is very good. However when I stayed there I soon became very disapointed.... More

We stayed at Alpino Hotel between flights, was fairly close to Aeroparque Jorge Newberry, about 10 mins in taxi/traffic. Seemed like an OK area of the city, we weren't really there long enough to tell, but the hotel itself was great value, a bit dated but still very comfortable. For $80US we had a quiet room on 4th floor, with... More

This hotel was well located, but it is not worth the money they charged. We also stayed at El Conquistador which costs the same but was much nicer. This hotel has not been updated in a long time. It is in need of some renovations. The elevator has to be opened manually, the bathroom looked like it was 40 years... More

I went to Buenos Aires for a seminar and this hotel was recommended by the organizer of the event. It is located in Palermo (the regular one, not Palermo Soho or Palermo Hollywood, but nearby) the staff was attentive and friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfast decent. I read another reviews and yes, it is an average place,... More

This is a very friendly and well organised hotel in a very safe area of Palermo. Some very good restaurants nearby. The subte is about a 10 minute walk away. The rooms are very clean and comfortable although the fixtures and fittings are showing their age a bit (the 80s style pink bathroom took a bit of getting used to!).... More

The Alpino Hotel definitely met expectations. The lobby, bar and dining area are very modern and breakfast fulfills with its croissants, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruits, coffee and juices. Though the room seemed a bit dated in style, it was very spacious. The room’s refrigerator has a stocked bar. Internet connectivity was great and the room was very spacious. A... More

I enjoyed my two-night stay at the Alpino in Palermo. My room was quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was good and the free WiFi worked fine. The neighborhood is pleasant with tree-lined streets and many shops and restaurants. I had an excellent meal at an Italian restaurant, Anetta, about four blocks away on Ugarteche and a good lunch at Canal,... More

I think the management has been reading tripadvisor comment, because some of the criticisms I read from past travelers seem to have been corrected. The staf were friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was a good selection of fruit, cereals, and pastries and the coffee was fine. A double bed for 2 persons was only $80, including the outrageous... More

Stayed at the Alpino for 7 nights and cannot find anything wrong with it. Granted the furnishing are from the 70's and the walls are paper thin, but the free WiFi always worked, it's in great location close to everything, nice hot water with plenty of water pressure (not always the case in Latin America) free breakfast, and a very... Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
