Great hotel!! We could walk to just about everything & good food was on every corner. Clean & the folks in the office couldn't have been better. The place has a few years on it but is very well kept. Stayed an extra half a day because of a flight delay and they were able to accommodate us, no problem.

Loved this old boutique styled hotel. Location were great and the staff were friendly. Continental brekky was ok to start off your day. Only thing I have to winge about is, it gets kinda stuffy in the room at night. Okay for a night or 2 to experience the old historic value.

We stayed in a far better hotel for the same price just around the corner from this neglected old dump. The first room we were shown absolutely stank of ciggarette smoke, the second room was tiny and the ensuite had the toilet positioned so that if you sat on it your feet were in the shower. The third room was... More

The hotel is really old, and quite charming. The location is fabulous. There is free wifi, but the connectivity is not great - its fine for phones and tablets but not for laptops. The breakfast is very basic - coffee and croissant. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. If you dont speak Spanish its best to communicate with... More

This is the second time we have stayed here. Fantastic location! The staff is great, the rooms are good,(do not come expecting the Hyatt). Old and lacking the ammenaties of newer hotels, but that is the charm of it. We like it and whenever we are in BA, we will be here,

The small front door gives no hint of what is inside - 3 floors with an atrium in the middle in muted pink & black,& balconies running around & also seating on the 1st floor with a table too. Our twin had a little entrance hall with a table & chair & there was a small fridge - great. The... More

Conveniently located in the “microcentro” area, nearby subway and bus stops; anytime you can also hail a cab, many on Av. de Mayo. This Spanish colonial style hotel was a nice surprise, the owners managed to maintain an authentic environment, even in the room – warm and cozy – and bathroom. A pleasant contrast with most of impersonal hotel rooms... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
