Room was a little dated but the staff made up for that with their friendliness and willing to help with anything and everything. I can't say enough about the staff, they treated so well. I definitely recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay there again and I am very picky.

We stayed at this hotel at 3 separate visits during a trip to Argentina and Antarctica in January 2015. Our first stay was one night in a room with a beautiful view, but with stained rug and in need of renovation. It had a dirty feel to it. The 2 next stays (of 3 nights each), however, were so much... If the only thing you care about is location, then this is the place to stay. It is located near tons of restaurants, shops, a remarkable park, La Recoleta Cemetary (where Eva Peron is buried) and a beautiful church - Nuestra Senora del Pilar. There are cabs at all times of the day available to take you anywhere you want... More

We actually ended up in this hotel because of a screw up at a sister hotel down the street. Hotel is in a great location, the staff are very friendly and facilities are very good. However the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms was terrible. There were stains on the carpets and walls, paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling, black... More

Our room had a standard from the 60´s. The staff had a not friendly attitude and we asked for hot water (as we had our own tea bags) and they told us we had to pay for that. The breakfast was poor. It was relly over prized. The only good thing to say is that the location was great.

We booked the hotel for its location and it was even better than anticipated. We had booked an executive room and it was amazing. I actually like the atmosphere of older hotels. Our room, which was the size of an apartment, was clean and comfortable. We had requested the cemetery view which was spectacular, oarticularly at night. The staff were... More

Hotel Etoile offers the best location in Recoleta. Safe and in In front of cemetary. Therefore it makes it quieter!Great breakfast with choices from fruit/bread/cereals/juices etc..Great staffs and friendly. Many restaurants near by. They are a bit pricy, but to compare to North America, still cheaper. Easy access by bus or subway to everywhere. Rooms are adequate, but need updating.... More

The Etoile hotel's best feature is its location which cannot be faulted and that's the only reason that I booked it. The whole hotel requires updating and redecorating as it looks tired and dog eared. Although we were upgraded to a larger room this didn't compensate for the poor fixtures inside. The lights were not working until the key system... More

This well situated hotel that stands directly opposite the gates of the Recoleta Cemetary, must have been the coolest place in Buenos Aires in the seventies and eighties. One can't fault the location, the views and the lobby art works. One can certainly not fault the service. It was excellent, including an unexpected upgrade to a vast suite we received... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
