The location is certainly very convenient. Close to all tourist and historic areas. Very close to restaurants and shopping. But the hotel was not clean. The rooms are dated and okay. I upgraded to what is called a superior room, which was better but not great. This is not a four star hotel.

We got a suite, which looked really nice with two floors. But we order a 4-persons room, so one bed was a not so comfortable sofa-bed. The staff was "ok". Maybe a little arrogant, and not very helpful with stuff beyond basic hotel service. Breakfast with a lot of cakes and croissant. Only simple ham and cheese and scrambled egg... More

I stayed at the Regente Palace for 3 nights while in BA for business. Centrally located for tourists as well as business travelers, the hotel was perfect for my needs. I arrived to the hotel right around noon after a long flight and the staff was very accommodating, allowing me to check in early. Through out my stay the staff... More

We stayed two nights prior to our tour to Iguazu Falls. Service was impeccable. I didn't run across one staff member that wasn't friendly or helpful. We booked on Priceline and it cost $47. Per night fees and taxes including. I was not expecting much due to the price but was surprised to find a an impeccable room with a... More

I´ve spent 5 days in Buenos Aires, and stood in this hotel, but I really cannot see why the call it a four star hotel. The people in the reception, supposed to help the costumers, did not attend it at all. When we asked them to help us by calling a restaurant they just said that we should dial from... More

We liked this hotel a lot. Primarily because its location was super and it was clean and comfortable. While this was not a four star place, it was perfectly good and the staff was very helpful. We loved getting out and walking everywhere in the neighborhood. Very downtown and the staff arranged a side trip to El Tiger (the delta)... More

My husband and I didn't stay at this hotel so cannot comment on the rooms. We purchased 2 tickets to a Boca Juniors game from the reception - this included a guide and transport to/from the stadium. We were recommended by a friend of my uncle's (taxi driver) to purchase from this hotel. We paid cash and received a receipt... More

This hotel is in a great location - a couple of blocks from most everything - but the hotel itself is quite dated (35-40 years old) without too much (any) remodeling. Rooms have been painted but dated. Breakfasts just fair - bland Staff were pretty decent.

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. Really, the Hotels location couldn’t be better! Rooms at Regente Palace Hotel are almost all renovated. The Hotel offers 3 main roomclasses, which are: STANDARD, EXECUTIVE and SUPERIOR. Despite of a few rooms located on the 5th floor, all rooms have been renovated with wooden floors, LCD, new sommier beds and furniture.... More

Good location for people who doesn't have much long to stay in Buenos Aires. The services are just ok. Actually very fair for the prices. One good tip is walking around three or four blocks and explore the pubs and attractions nearby.

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
