De la Paix had very nice staff, very polite, friendly and spoke very good English! The location is perfect, there's so many good restaurants just meters away from the hotel and all the tourist attractions are just around the corner. If it wasn't for the excellent staff and location, I'd give the hotel itself 3 points, I asked when I... More

This hotel is located in the microcenter of Buenos Aires. The rooms are quite big, clean and comfortable. The variety of food for breakfast can be considered as above average in comparison with other hotels nearby within the same price range. The staff was nice, polite and helpful. The hotel itself might seem to be a bit old, but still... More

This hotel is situated about 50 meters from Av de julio and is parralel to the beautiful Av. de Maju. This location gives you the advantage of avoiding the trrafic noise as the hotel is located in a small street, yet you are close to all the major attractions. The obelisc is about 7 minutes walk, the "Casa Rosada " and Plaza... More

The hotel is old, true. The staff is not the friendliest people you will ever meet, true. Breakfast is not outstanding, true. However, it is cheap and centrally located, which was all I was looking for last time I traveled to Buenos Aires. If they maintain the rates, I would go again.

My fiance and I stayed here in June '11 for 8 days and in case you can't be bothered reading the whole review..I would NOT recommend this hotel. For those that can, here's our reasons: -The staff was uninterested, careless and unwelcoming. We stayed here for many days and got a chance to see various employees many times at different times... This hotel is a little bit old (bedrooms, hall) however it's clean. Very good location of the hotel (a few steps from the Avenida De Mayo & Avenida 9 de Julio) and close to all commodities. We had a big fridge in the bedroom. Nice and good choice for the breakfast. Staff is correct and helpful.

I stayed here on my first visit to BsAs. On my 5 subsequent visits, I stayed elsewhere. I prefer the kind of hotel room where you can walk into and do not have to climb over the bed because the single suitcase has taken up all the floor space.

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
