The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Good base for local attractions. did lots of walking and used trains to the north, 3 times. Breakfast was standard and the same as elsewhere in BA,

When we booked on line and paid only $50 we were thinking this would be a substandard hotel with no service and shabby conditions but quite the opposite. We were given a clean 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with great service and a location very near to The Port. If you are getting on or off a ship and need... More

I stayed here not because I wanted to, but because my apartment in Buenos Aires lost electricity on a very hot night and I needed somewhere close by with air conditioning and wi-fi. I found a good rate (under $50 US) for the same night check in and, based on prior reviews, felt it was a good choice. I arrived... More

We found that this hotel was just fine. Not amazing, but nothing wrong with it either. In fact, the scariest part were the elevators! The room was clean and a queen bed as we'd booked. Our room was close to the elevator so we heard some elevator noise in the night, but nothing we couldn't handle. I appreciated that the... More

The pros and cons of GHBA from a businessman point of view: Pros: The location is great. The personnel is friendly. Service is good. Cons: Breakfast: even when there is an early version available, if you want to enjoy the full one you will have to wait until 7 a.m. Internet: too slow and sometimes with services interruptions. Working space:... More

Booked this hotel for 3 nights based on good recommendations and 4 star ratings on the Booking.com site. It turned out to be a terrible place. It was a family vacation and we had two rooms. Both rooms were old, dirty and the place had bugs (I have the photos). The sheets smelled stale and musty--not a place you want... More

This place was in a great location close to Florida Street. The rooms are clean but small. The bathrooms had no exhaust and the towels they offered were clean, old and frayed. The elevators are really old. Breakfast not exciting. There are no bell boys service. I was surprised that it was a 4 star hotel, it felt like less... More

this hotel is perfectly located if you want to be close to Calle Florida, subway, Galeria Pacifico etc. My room was clean and everything OK. The matress though was rather worn out. Breakfast was OK. WIFI was terrible in the room and bad in the lobby. Friendly staff. As rooms were avaliable I was able to check in in the... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
