We booked on Hotwire and got an incredibly cheap price for a triple room and breakfast. My 4 star rating reflects the value for money for the price we paid. I found the location great, easy to walk to many places, loads of buses stop nearby, Metro is 10 minute walk away. Our room on the first floor was pretty... More

Stayed here for two nights with a friend. The staff is helpful and friendly but not that good at english. The room was ok with a big openable window with view of the street. The ac did not work properly and the tv was small and far away. Also the safety box was closed and could not be used. I... More

Impala Hotel is an old hotel on a very central location close to Retiro bus station. I arrived early morning and was given a room immediately. Facilities were allright. Am just curious why at check in, and after house keeping service, there were never towels in the room? They were brought up quickly after i called. WiFi in the room... More

TLDR:Great service, awesome location, very nice staff, and affordable. We made a last minute reservation and did not go through a lot of reviews before doing so. A day before arriving, I started digging into this reviews and was just really stressed out because it looked like a terrible place to stay. Now, the reality of our stay . We... More

The hotel is in an excellent location near Recoleta. However, the rooms ar small for thre people, we hardly can move ind the room. The breakfast room at 11h (now) is dirty and dark. We have to wait a long time to have a clean table and the service is the breakfast rom is dark. There ar many good cafes... More

on arrival in BA back in early jan. we stayed in a hostel near the microcenter for one night before picking up our car. it left us with a fairly dull view of the city. returning 5 weeks later (and 2 months sooner than planned due to a family emergency) we checked into what for us was quite the upgrade... We would rate this at about 1-2 star due to Location not central Rooms smell of stale cigarette smoke Beds small and uncomfortable with one flat pillow we each. Prison pillows are better Rooms are noisy Breakfast average. Bread often a little old Safes in rooms don't work Staff are slow to fix anything On the plus side: staff is... More

This is a decent enough hotel but the staff are what really make the difference. My wife developed laryngitis shortly after arriving in Buenos Aires. Diego and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. They phoned taxis and doctors for us, helped us change check our changed flights and generally helped us sort ourselves out during the... More

The worst thing about this hotel is the horrible sound proofing. When you are in the room and someone does something in the room next to yours or in the corridor - you can hear everything. of course, after some time you get used to it and you feel like at home when your family members walk arond in the... We stayed that this hotel for four nights at the end of a 7 week South American trip before heading back to Sydney. Given the location, the nightly tariff was good value at US$55. We found the English speaking front desk staff extremely helpful (booking restaurants, checking airline details etc), much better service then you would expect from a 3... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
