Stayed here on two separate occasions in early April. The first stay I was given a refurbished room which was nice. The second stay I was given a twin room which had not been refurbished and it definitely felt more down at heel. However, rooms aside, service was great. I was able to change euros and dollars at reception at... More

Lovely location and public areas very modern and attractive. However our room very tired and in need of updating. Bed clean but room not. Lots of dust under bed and in air con griille. Upside restaurant and breakfast meals excellent and cocktails in bar best ever tasted. We stayed pre cruise for 3 nights. Friendly and English speaking reception staff.

We stayed four nights in January 2015. The free breakfast buffet each morning included a selection of scrambled eggs with sides of ham and delicious sauteed potatoes, a wide selection of pastry and baked breads, fresh fruit assortment, fresh-squeezed orange juice, cereal, yogurt, and good quality coffee. Eating out in Buenos Aires is both time-consuming and expensive, so given the... More

We arrived at the hotel at 9:30am in the morning after our earlybird flight, instead of telling us 'you must wait till 2:00pm for the check in', the receptionist gave us the keys to our hotel room right away. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly shocked because it is a 2 bedroom hotel room, with 2 twin... More

El conquistador is a nice hotel ideally located in Retiro and quite close form AEP airport (120AR for the taxi). I stayed there only for a night. I arrived early in the morning as my flight landed in the morning. The reception did not bother at all and gave the room straight away (although check in time is normally 2pm).... More

A great location with restaurants and clubs on their doorstep and further information on BA from the staff was helpful and informative. Does what it says on the label and more. Excellent value. No question I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it... More

The hotel is well located, close to the touristic points ,the rooms are well cleaned and the value of the Check In is very acessible! It only lacks in service,I think the breakfast should start a little earlier and not at 10 o’clock I recommend this hotel to everybody

We stayed 4 nights in the El Conquistador and couldn't have been more pleased. We were assisted in excellent English by Front Desk Staff Martin and Nicholas. The other Front Desk Staff were equally attentive. The hotel is very nice. The 4 of us shared a 2 bedroom unit separated by a bath. Each room had 2 twin beds. It... More

The hotel staff were amazing. I had a bad case of sciatica and could hardly walk. The staff sent a doctor, free of charge, to my room within a couple of hours of asking. Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
