The hotel is well located, clean, silent, with a good continental breakfast and its crew is very kind. I would return there since I do not need other luxury facilities such us swimingpool, spa and other

Good enough for a few days. Staff is helpful, breakfast include some breads and empanadas, milk, coffee, juice and some other goodies and a few fruits. Room is clean, linens looks tired. Bathroom sink is real smal, hair dryer doesn´t work, water from sink comes out very litlle and slow. Central heater makes de room a bit hot over night... More

The Hotel and staff were wonderful I would suggest to have music playing at pools and the hotel needs some night life.. A show or concert would be nice. something so that people are not bored at night, all the stores close early. I notice people are walking around bored. If people do not come back its because you have... More

Best view, worst hotel you will ever experience for service regardless of star rating... Upon arriving, view was great and family was excited. For the most part our trip was good but not because of the hotel staff. Our room was ok, but the service was not good. Cleaning of the rooms was spotty and as luck would have it,... More

We went to walk around and see the city and we were in total a 6 night stay in July. We opted for the standard room. It is a vertical hotel, old but well maintained. The service is satisfactory, although we have not used all the services and the staff showed up with good understanding of the portuguese language. The... More

We travelled this winter to Buenos Aires and stayed at El Conquistador Hotel. The best point is definitely the localization - in the Suipacha Street - just 3 streets from Florida Street (if you go down) and 2 streets from 9 Julio Avenue (if up). So if you like to walk, you can go almost everywhere by foot from your... More

This hotel has a very friendly and gentle staff, is clean, and well localized for those who want to walk through downtown and visit the touristic points like Casa Rosada and Obelisco. The room is also clean, although small. It has color TV, fridge, and phone. Breakfast included a lot of "medialunas": very good. Free WiFi worked ok. The minus... More

After my previous hotel had horrible wi-fi, I was happy to find this hotel had much better (not excellent) wi-fi. I reserved a King room -- and ended up with a two-room suite. It was perfect in that the smaller room served as the office. Had nice view from both rooms, especially the big bedroom which you could see a... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
