Stayed here while on vacation recently, and has been described below the rooms are simply furnished yet comfortable, with good closet space. I found the bed to be comfortable and because the room was an interior room there was no street noise to speak of. Breakfast offered a full range of options of pastries including the requisite medialunas, fruit, eggs,... More

Old hotel in very nice area. On arrival the reception staff greeted me warmly. After a long trip from California it was good to feel welcomed. As has been mentioned "excellent / price ratio for the hotel. I will say Lorena, Magdelina, and Guido were excellent. Manner, knowledge and helpfulness. The room was well organi. King bed, writing desk. Closet... More

Very helpful staff, good breakfast, basic rooms - but perfect for the price. Lovely area and great walking to boutiques, cafes and other attractions. Recoleta area is wonderful and gives you great taste of "living" Buenos Aries.

We only had a day and one-half to explore Buenos Aires, so getting a hotel in a central location was very important to us. The Bel Air Hotel was located in the Recoleta neighborhood and was in walking distance to everything. The room was small but very clean, and the breakfast in the morning was good. They held our bags... More

Very nice hotel and excellent quality/price ratio in a good location in Buenos Aires. Staff was very helpful and super nice, breakfast is copious and very much worth it. Rooms are really quiet and well kept. One caveat on the bathroom that did not look it has been renovated in a while but was kept very clean.

We loved staying in Hotel Bel Air-4 nights on trips in and out of B. A. The hotel is in the heart of the Recoleta neighborhood, which is a beautiful old upscale residential area with lots of good restaurants. It is a short taxi ride to downtown and to most of the attractions in Buenos Aires. The clerks were especially... More

I found a young guy at the front desk not helpful and friendly (with longer hair). When I asked him how long I had to take on foot to a certain place, he answered: it depends on the person. Mmm....well.....then I asked the approximate time just for reference. He said it really depends on the person as someone may walk... More

Nothing special. Staff quite friendly. When I asked for an early check-in they took their time to find a room and then charge $50. Room was fine: bed comfortable. Decor bland. No iron or ironing board. Shower a bit leaky. Restaurant closes ridiculously early. Breakfast ok, but nothing to write home about.

Buenos Aires is one of my favourite cities, in spite of the terrible economy in Argentina and the social unrest asado is still asado at its best in that country. I landed in Bs Aires last Thursday in the morning for a quick two day meeting. Not much traffic from EZE to the hotel location in Recoleta because of a... More

Nice small hotel in a very centric location at La Recoleta neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Nice rooms, clean, and good service. Good restaurants around. Very close to Santa Fé avenue, where you can walk to a lot of local stores and restaurants

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
