The Americas Tower is a very well located and convenient hotel. A real plus is that you can walk to most places from The Americas Tower. The lobby and common areas are very well maintained and appear to have been recently renovated. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The guest rooms needs significant work. The carpets are all worn... More

I went to Buenos Aires in a family trip with my wife and baby. The hotel reserved us a huge room with a nice baby crib. Right in front of the hotel there is a Carreful Express where we could buy water for a very cheap price. There are 4 or 5 good restaurants with good price, in the same... More

This hotel is located on a non-descript street in Buenos Aires within walking distance of many places tourists would like to visit. The building is neither terribly unattractive nor is it in any way attaractive. The rooms a relatively small but clean. The staff at the desk is OK when the English speakers are on duty. Frequently they are not... More

Quite a good hotel for the price. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Helped with booking tours and arranging taxis. Very good location wi3th a number of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was average but enough food to ensure you didn't go away hungry.

Only redeeming quality of this hotel was the location; walking distance to many places of interest such as The opera house, Recoleta , & Florida Street. Place needed updating as rooms were very shabby looking. The worst breakfast ever! Stale rolls, awful tasting coffee, no hot cereal. I would only recommend this hotel for the convenience.

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel several years ago while on a tour and remembered it favorably. Stayed again in January 2015 and it proved to be better than remembered. It was clean, nice, modern, with all the amenities that you'd expect from a hotel at rates subtsantially higher than this hotel. If only I could take... More

The hotel is conveniently located 20 ft from Av. Santa Fe. I found a great deal on Hotels.com and booked right away. The hotel is older, rooms are on the small side with a small cramped washroom. We had a king size bed which was reasonably comfortable. The internet was slow if you sat near the window while surfing. Our... More

It's OK but not outstanding in any way what so ever. If you're looking for a Place to stay a night or two - no problem. Service in the restaurant is poor. The hotell is situated in a pretty nice area with shopping, operahouse and a famous library nearby.

I stayed here for 2 nights and found this hotel to be nothing special at all. I tried to find something that sparkles here, but came up empty. The breakfast buffet was bland and the coffee was no good. This hotel is in need of updates. The carpeting and bedding is old, and the sheets had a few spots with... More

Although not very pricey avg $110usd the hotel was still a disappointment. It is centrally located to nicer touristic sites, the hotel area itself is not very interesting and lacks any good restaurants. But it is located across the stress from a convenient store. The hotel had issues, we were a group of 6 with 3 rooms. One room was... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
