This a good hotel, with just a few minor downsides. You can expect all the things you expect from a 5* hotel but there are some things missing. No outdoor pool and a small difficult to find sundeck. The restaurant is sometimes closed in the evening, so just must eat in bar area. the location not the best, there is... More

The Hotel Emperador is not what I would expect from a 5-star hotel. The hotel lobby is great; probably this hotel was very luxurious in the past. However, for today's standards, the rooms are outdated. But for the worst part was the customer service. During the checkout, I have left my luggages in the luggage room, at the lobby. When... More

The best word to describe the hotel is decent. It is an old hotel with a beautiful lobby and garden, but with very outdated rooms. Many small annoying things: plugs in the room very far from the bed, internet is almost non-existent, below average food, poorly trained staff. They changed the rate during the stay without any notice. Not worth... More

An external plain impression of this hotel belies the spaciousness and impressive marble floored feel once inside. The main dining room at the rear of the lobby was equally open and welcoming. The hotel staff are generally somewhat reserved and at times too formal. One sometimes is able to extract smiles. The lobby has security staff overtly evident suggesting a... More

When staying in a 5 star hotel called Emperador I do have certain expectations of a grand hotel. The entrance was quite unremarkable, and the building in general downright boring. Nothing grand here. Service friendly and helpful. The rooms looked more promising on the website than in reality. On the bed a woolen blanket. I believe duvet would be better in... More

We stayed in this hotel for three nights as part of a Globus tour group. It was beautiful, and in a great location (walking distance to Recoleta cemetery) and it was quiet. The rooms are well appointed, and the rooms are very large. We walked a block or two and ate empanadas and drank beer at a small local restaurant... More

My wife and I finished our trip to Antarctica and stayed overnight in this hotel before flying home on February 24. During our stay, the reception clerks and the bell boy were very helpful . Room was reasonably clean and breakfast was OK. When we returned home and found that we left our camera battery charger and battery in the... More

Stayed here for two nights as part of a tour, as I suspect other reviewers did, and thought it was well situated within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and museums. The rooms were clean and very spacious, and staff friendly and helpful, although there is no shop within the hotel so if you are missing toothpaste etc not the... More

My wife and I had a fantastic trip to South America but had the gross misfortune to be put up in this hotel for one night after our Iberia flight home was delayed 24 hours. We are not fussy eaters but the evening meal was terrible, tasteless stodge. I had to actually ask what the meat was - and was... More
