The hotel is located right next to the obelisk and you can walk just about everywhere. The hotel is older and could do with an update but the staff are friendly, our room was clean and comfortable. There is complimentary breakfast and they are open later than most places so no rush to get up. They let us leave our... More

centrally located hotel , walking distance to all the main attractions, including Teatro Colon. Very helpful staff. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. Many restaurants close by. I would definitely stay there again

They did not even allowed us to enter the hotel, then on the desk they did not know anything about our booking and said that they are full. Only after I have shown them the booking confirmation from booking.com, they have accommodated us. View on the widest street in the city was really good, we enjoyed. The breakfast was also... More

The only thing going for this hotel is the location. 3 stars at best, unbelievably noisy and impossible to sleep with the 24 hour traffic noise, unfriendly staff, Hotel is old and could be cleaner. Breakfast was very basic. Would never stay there again.

I don't like to spend a lot on hotel rooms when the only thing I am going to do is sleep there. This hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of shopping and tourist sites. There are many fine restaurants a short taxi ride away. Caution, the restaurants close to the hotel can be tourist traps, expensive and lack... More

Oddly, my local family living in BA recommended this as a good basic hotel. Basic is right. It's a good albeit loud part of town. But rooms are aged, linens are threadbare, and overall it a value. Would not return.

Let me start by saying we have stayed all over the world in many different hotels from bargain to luxury. This is the second worst place we have ever stayed. We were not treated badly. This is just an honest assessment of the facility. First, it is right at the obelisk so the location is good especially if you have... More

Everything was more than ok here. Customer service is really well prepared for foreigner travelers. The breakfast has a great variety and options. It location is super convinient, close to the mayor buenos aires streets like Corrientes and Calle Florida.

We spent 4 nights and we found a nice hotel, however It has no service elevator, so when you take a lift you share with staff. Few details: old fashion style, perforated curtains, stained carpet, poor bathroom accesories, vanquished mattresses, poor breakfast. Is a good hotel for passing through.

The hotel and rooms are ok and have ample. I've stayed in single timeshare units that were smaller than this. The furnishings are dated, and linens and bedclothes need refreshing. Staff has been very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. There is a Starbucks across the street if you need your fix like we do.

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
