Stayed here for two nights (1-2/2/16.) following a cruise. We had booked an executive room. We were allocated a room on the first floor at the front of the hotel. The room was very large with a settee and dining table, but dark and dismal. The hotel is located on a main road in a one way system. As a... More

Pluses Central, nice staff, nice bedroom, free Internet. Very clean. Minuses Poor bathroom, poor breakfast. We only spent 2 nights here after a cruise and it was OK for that time, don't know what it cost as part of a package. Probably decent value.

I visited Buenos Aires for the first time. I had looked at several hotels and chose this one. I was not disappointed. It is well located in that it is off the main roads but in the best part of the City. There is an upscale grocery store just across the street. The hotel restaurant is better than expected. The... When we arrived at the hotel we were not sure what to expect. At a first look it doesn't seem to be a five or four star hotel, but the room was huge with a nice balcony and very clean. The bathroom may need some improvement soon. The staff was very nice. The hotel is located close to the city... More

Hotel is well located and very good value for money. Service was excellent with most client-facing staff English-speaking. There is a supermarket directly across the hotel which made buying sundries very convenient. Hotel is located within easy walking distance to shopping district "Florida" and New York-ish "Posada" vicinity where several highly rated restaurants were located.

The first room I was given, on sixth floor, had carpeting and smelled and felt a little stale. I was moved to 703 which was better with wooden floor and upgraded bathroom. However, this room had a slightly unpleasant smell as well. I deduced smell came from air conditioning unit given when I left it off, smell was gone. Not... More

We arrived in this Hotel at 10.00 am for 2 nights following a cruise, we were told our room was not available until 3.00 pm so we sat in the imposing foyer for 3 hours. We were not offered a coffee or any refreshment but eventually found our room was available after 1.00pm. We took the elevator to the 5th... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
